Puffenuff's Apache Tent

What's up RIU? It's about time I get back to gardening after taking a break for a few months. This time I'm running with seeds rather than clones mostly because I was given some freebies and wanted to try them out. I'll be running my Apache Tech AT120WR 3:2 for veg and then I'll be adding in a second AT120 when I flip to flower. This will done in a 3x3 tent.

I have 3 Female Violator Kush seeds from Barney's Farm


And 3 Regular Cotton Candy Bubble Gum seeds from Purple Caper Seeds


I've never grown either one of these strains so I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The plan is to veg them out until they are roughly 24" tall and then flip. I just planted the seeds into 16oz party cups and when they outgrow the cups they will go into 3gal smartpots. As usual, I'm using CANNA Coco and CANNA Nutrients with a couple extra additives that I'll starts supplementing with throughout the cycle like MagiCal, Great White, Silica Blast, and MOAB.

Glad to have you aboard! Yeah, I fully intend to have the tent on jungle status this round. I'm stoked to get the extra unit, might even throw it in during the last few weeks of veg, what do you think?

I have grown violator kush and I think I had only one seeds, of all the spacebomb cross I made it's the only one that I will probably not grow again, ... anyway I was not impressed at all with violator kush but to be fair I really enjoy the smell and if the one sbxviolator kush that I have grown wouldnt have hermied on me I would probably grow some of them because I liked the smell so much.

I am looking forward to see how yours turn out !

Thanks for the info, GS! I haven't really checked out any reviews on violator kush. My buddy had been sitting on these seeds for a year or two and said he wasn't going to grow them and gave them to me to try out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it turns out good. I love kush strains so i'm excited to see how it goes.

No, FERO dicked me around for too long. Brent kept saying that he would hook it up with the newest light, I guess that would be the latest area51 sgs-or whatever, but then when it came around to it, all of the sudden he doesn't sell lights anymore and basically said I'm shit outta luck. So I've been kinda bummed about that, but karma is a bitch and that's probably why FERO is out now.

Yeah shit I was so hoping to get one of those SGS... Replace my blackstar...

Anyway, I am not going to be shopping for lights any time soon, I am satisfied with my lights, I know they can give me the results I am looking for and I can focus on getting better at growing for a while... maybe in the future when they get that much better but I dont see anyone growing pumpkin size buds yet.

Nonetheless, I am looking forward to see how you do with your lighting setup.

Better late than never. I sure hope it's going to be smooth sailing with seeds this time, it's been a few years since I've done them. Keeping my fingers crossed for some females out of the cotton candy bubblegum. Haha, I recall some freaking out on your part. Appreciate the kind words.

For a quick update: 2 violators and 2 ccbg have popped through. Needing just 2 more to make it, then I'll be praying for females. Pics later tonight.

Came home to the third CCBG showing its head. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least two of the three to be female. The last violator is trying to break through, hoping she does tomorrow. That would be pretty sweet. Besides the last one not breaking through yet, I also have the issue of not really knowing what the proper height to run my light at this stage is to worry about. I guess I'll have to do the old trial-and-error routine like it's my first run with it (which it I guess it really is being the first time I've used it from seed). Wish me luck!
