pulled out his seedling?

for some reason my genius neighbor decided that since his seed wasn't sprouting fast enough so he pulled it out of the ground. Apparently the root was about 3/4 inch long. I don't know what possessed him to do this but, he buried it again. Think this plant is just toast?

give it a few days, you never know. I have a 14 ' foot lemon skunk that my cat pulled out by the root.
