Pulling off undergrowth? Day 58

Looking at this Bullshit undergrowth I am always inclined to trim it down, but now using autos for the first time my learning has told me to not as it might stunt the growth and that's not good this late in the game at day 58 (look to have another 15-20 days). But I am also inclined to want to help yhe plant focus on making the main buds, not butter-waste buds.

Just wanted to check in, everyone agree, or have a different experience. 20170123_175957.jpg

I tend to leave the little crap on too. Everything I've read about the subject tells me to get rid of it much earlier in the growth stage but I hate to hack it off. :)

Sure wouldn't stunt growth if you were to snip off the popcorn now but leave the branches and leaves on as they can help catch light and make food for the top growth while not using up resources the top growth needs. That's the way I look at it but I can't point you to any definitive articles about it. Might be best just to cut all the small branches out.

If you want to get more out of the lower growth then some side lighting as @Sir72 suggests would help with that. I have a 150w hps lighting up my lower stuff now as I dusted some buds down there to make seeds and I wanted to be sure they got some extra light.

:peace:

I'd leave it be, the plant is only going to produce X amount of weight regardless if it's in the colas or the lower branches. Chopping/trimming will stress the plant even just a little bit will lower your yield using its energy to heal. Hell, the bigger the buds, the thicker and heavier the stems.
