I been thinking about doing a diy cob setup. Just worried ill burn my house down lol
Nah. Most diy kits are pre wired. If its not its straight forward and easy to do.
Ah okay, got the spec sheet data?
Not really. Citizen 1212 cobs gen 6 at 50 watts with a mean well driver with dimming.
Nice, I'm going with autocobs because I like the idea of single engine lights. Thinking I may leave the 250hps in the middle then put the four auto cobs in each corner. Get a nice mixed spectrum rotating plants between the two daily.
What's is an auto cob?
Right. Im sure here shortly i will begin that journey. For now im happy with my hps. When i have the extra funds ill get into it. Cause knowing myself ill go all out and it will be a pretty penny
I've been lucky. I got both my lights as testers.
Looks like they are using citizen cobs. Looks like they use generic drivers as they don't list the specs.
The auto cobs are the same as any other diy kit. The dog kit would be cheaper. Like the 200 watt citizen kit.
200 watt citizen kit. 249 bucks. Same price as two of the auto cobs.
Check this out. 2 of the Vero gen7.
From this site?
I myself was looking towards these grow green boards witch a guy on here started a coop on. Then using cobs on perimeter of those boards. There 2 channel 200 watt boards i believe if i remember correctly
Yes. If you start a grow journal and people like it you will get offers from seeds to lights.
Really liking the price point of the 300w citizen kit from timber. I work with sheet metal for a living, it would be nothing for me to make an aluminum frame for them....
Cool. I was a sheet metal guy in the military.
Are you guys getting more yeild with the cobs opposed to hps
Don't know yet, I've seen some damn fine results from them though. YouTube growmau5.
Well as promised I said that I would start germing so we would all be in the same relative timeframe.
Soaked 7 beans in a shot glass last night, with a few mls of h2o2 and my well water. Woke up and all were sunk, placed in paper towel before work and what do ya know within 8 hours three were showing taproots. Two others are starting to crack.
Planted the three in promix, covered the solo cups with baggies and should see cotyledons tomorrow. Probably gonna have a few more taproots showing in the morning as well.
I stand beside what I said in the old thread:
Skuff the beans on an Emory board, soak in water with some h2o2, and most importantly, before that, store in the fridge for a few weeks first to simulate winter.
That's great man, good advice and way to come through showing your results...the fun part is seeing what happens between now and the smoke report many months down the road. I can tell already that they made their way to a good home
