Quantum Boards Grow Round 2 SCROG time

What's up fellas.
QB Megaforce scrog grow time!
I'm doing 4 plants in 2 gallon pots of Nutrifield coco/perlite and gs2 Growstones fed Jacks 321.5, Ful-Power and Mammoth P during flower.

I used two phenos each of the #1 and #2 Headbangers since they look like the all around winners out of the 4 I popped.
Once rooted I put the rapid rioters in solo cups for about 5 days and transplanted into the 2 gallon pots today.

They will get at least a 3-4 week veg and will get topped once to really fill the screen with fat bud sites. No lowers or larf allowed.

The clones looked pretty rough last few days and the leaves had a type of variegation I guess you can call it where they started to look brittle and sick and dried/curled up, but the last batch did the same thing after transplant and turned out fine so far. Just takes them a bit to grow out if it.

Starting them at 150w and am keeping the lights nice and distant to get them stretching.
Will go up to 200w week 1 of flower and ultimately 240w again 2 weeks after that.

Join the ride. Haven't been under a screen in a few months. Couple that with my new favorite and reigning champ in lighting and this grow should rock the house!

did you rinse the hell out of the coco and grow stones? that would be my guess on why they act up when you transplant.subbed
You know what it could have very well been the coco that I didn't rinse but I've never had that happen before going straight to coco but then again I also accidentally mixed about 10 gallons of promix into the top of my 30 gallons of coco/growstones bin. I tried mixing it in the best I can when I realized it thinking it wouldn't really F up my mix.
When I transplant into final pot I always saturate the pots and sure enough that run off is as brown as Mississippi mud.
I was hoping it was the promix causing most of it. I should be done with this bin of media next run or two.
The growstones get rinsed in the bag they come in before I mix with the coco. I just poke some holes in the bottom and run a hose over it for a few minutes.
Thanks though man, that absolutely makes sense.

Edit: it probably was the coco since for these solo cups I used some coco straight from the bag, an older bag as well and I didn't rinse. I'll start giving it a rinse from now and see if that makes any difference.

yeah man the only coco i was ever able to use right out of the bag without burn problems was/is house n garden coco.its pricey but its triple rinsed before they bag it.the worst shit is botanicare coco, def wanna rinse that stuff well then charge it back with some calmag around 300ppm.i used to do all my cuts and seeds in pure coco because stuff roots faster in it,but a few bad bags of dif shit when my store stopped carrying H & G and i said fuck it,not worth my time with all the damn rinsing.i like being able to just grab it right out of the bag,as to why i went back to straight promix, just easier for me.they'll bounce back and be fine.you can still rinse it now with plants in there, just use your normal nutes and use more than normal till it starts looking better coming out the bottoms.peace

I rinse my coco in 5 gallon paint strainer bags. They fit over a bucket. I fill them then rinse under the bathtub faucet. I even store it in those bags as it drys quickly in them.

Been vegging out last few weeks.
Change of plans for the scrog. Going to try and get 20-24 cuts off the front 2 plants (#2 pheno) and another #2 mom I'm transplanting tmrw so I can do a side by side sog from rooted clone under 80 and 90 cri boards.
Stay tuned

Looks good man. Yeah, this is a QB thread. The OP might not mind but it's focused around those who use them or want to.
I'm an ex HPS user myself that converted to led.
Welcome to RIU led section fellow grower.
With that said, you're in the right place to learn about upgraded growing light tech. These Quantum Boards, DIY cob lights & some good led companies can be found here in the led section, along w/ a boat load of Tech knowledge as well as speculation of course, depending who you're talking to. Allot of good guys that may help out w/ growing questions too.
You're welcome to share n post pics on my thread if you'd like. I used to put up pics of my HPS room when I was comparing to my LEDs during their trial runs in my earlier threads.
Here's a link to my current threads if you wanna stop by!
