What would happen or has anybody tried to feed.. Plain water then water with nutes or vice versa.. In one feeding. I remembered about super saturation..

I've heard it said that you should water in with a little plain water before feeding but there's no reason to not just start with feed.

Ive never heard anyone ask that question but im glad someone did. I thought of the dirt as a sponge that can hold only so much water. So if the roots had went deeper maybe the plain water should go first. Being absorbed by the dirt closer to the top. And not absorbing the h2o with nutes allowing it to go deeper and possibly allow a healthier root system. Now i dont feel too stupid if the question was asked before.

Actually ..... keeping the soil moist instead of wet / drench allows better oxygenated conditions for roots , healthy roots will " seek " the moisture thus grow more. Most growers overwater plants which leads to all kinds of issues as roots become suffocated and possibly causing DAMP OFF conditions . Even from the start ... There is NO REASON to drown a seedling , just mist her a couple days and let rooting happen naturally.

Like this pic below .... I just water ( lightly ) around base of stalk with water
( TAP ph to 6.5 ) the host medium soil has enough Nutes embedded to start plant just fine without excess feeding - some growers feed from the start some don't. I let the plant get accustomed to the environment I put her in without FORCE FEEDING HER. .

Some strains are hungrier than others but I usually have no issues letting them grow without hovering over her daily. Sometimes I do a 1/8 strength foliar spray to add a very small amount of feed during early veg , just depends .

Definitely for seedlings. They don't have deep enough roots to draw the water out from lower in the soil and you have to make sure that the few shallow roots they have don't dry out.

Once established its important to be sure that when you do water you do a little bit at a time to make sure that none is running down the inside of the pot and keep doing it that way until you get even run off all of the way around the pot to make sure that you get even saturation throughout the the soil. Once youve done that it's critical to allow the soil to dry out quite a bit to allow that oxygenation of the root zone.

Thanks folks. Im allways trying to look at things differently.. Example Every tool i own i can use it in ways it wasnt made for.. Sowing with fishing line.. Useing swim noodles to insure my fishing knife floats should it fall in the water.. And i use the noodles cut up as packing p-nuts.

Ive been clean from opiates for two years.. And now my brain is working overtime.
