Question about Primary Caregiver on Maine application...

Hello!

First of all its nice to have found a place in to talk to local patients and growers. I wish I had found this sooner! I am in the Southern Maine area myself.

So I have a question about the Maine MMJ caregiver application...

On the application the first box says...

- Primary Caregiver (NOT growing marijuana) - Mandatory $31 fee for background checks

Could someone please explain what this means to me? I have been under the impression that to be a caregiver in Maine you must be growing for your patients.

Does this mean you can purchase MMJ from caregivers that are growing, and sell that to licensed patients yourself? Sort of a caregiver middle man? I just noticed this tonight for the first time and cannot make sense of what it would mean. Google isn't any help tonight :( Any help on this is appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Suppose you care for someone who is a patient. That person is not able to get around much, etc. So you become their caregiver and you don't grow..someone else does that. A caregiver certificate would allow you to purchase and possess mmj for the patient and/or help them prepare and use it.
