Question about temps

The temps in my grow tent are usually around 75F-82F. I have had root rot before but i think it was the top to my res was to thin so it was letting light in the rez. I fixed that. I had one plant die on me and i think it was due to the top-fed drip system. My question is what is the best temp for the water in the rez? and at what temp should i consider using hydroguard?

i dont use hydroguard but keep my nutes temps about 18c about 65f or even a little cooler, you should not have rot problems at these temps.

I keep my rdwc around 66F. Up to 70F you shouldnt have issues as long as you are changing the res every 2 weeks and not shitting in the res.

You will get a lot healthier and more abundance of roots at 66F though.

Your plants will generally be healthier as well.

the temps in my tent(after moving the plants to a bigger room) are 72F with lights off and about 79-80F with lights on. I am gonna replace my light (Mars Hydro 300) with a quantum board soon hopefully the temps get a little lower. If i run hydroguard in the rez along with changing the rez every 7 days will i be alright?

A watt is a watt. Takes same amount of cooling. Savings on heat generated are due to less wattage used

My room was regularly 85F during summer and my plants survived. You will want to feed less though since the plants will drink up more water and this will raise the feed overtime easier

Agreed that power is power, BUT efficacy of the light source determines how much of that power is converted into usable light that the plant grow with. Less efficient lights use less of those watts making photons and more is expressed as a thermal load to the room.
