I recently purchased a Profilter carbon filter. When I opened the package it had some charcoal leaking from the inside. This even stained the prefilter.

Is this normal?

Yes it happens quite a bit.

Hook your fan up to it to blow through it for a while.Tap it around and slap it some.........like a nice ass.It will be fine.

well I learn somthin every day. (I would wonder how much it would need to be banged around though) All the ones Ive seen out the box were clean.

You dnt hear it movin around or anything do you if you shake it (it should be packed verry tight in there).

Make sure its not loose or not packed in or it might not work propperly.

Don't forget: Slap like a nice ass!

This part is detrimental..............

This seems to be a it more common with filters ordered off line.I haven't seen a dirty one at any shops, only ones that are ordered off the net.

And i forgot to mention this, hoping you haven't hooked it up and slapped dat ass a few times yet.

Don't do it inside!!!!

It'll be like some thin off the 3 stooges.......room full of black cloud an shit.
