Questions about growing outside

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I was curious about a plant I have that I’ve begun outdoors. It’s pretty sunny and warm where I live around this time (I live in the hill country in Texas), and I start my veggies around now as well. I went ahead and planted a single plant outside along with my veggies and it’s has begun to sprout. I don’t want to have to transfer it inside with everything I’ve read about bringing outside pests inside, and was wondering how being outside can affect the veg state? I’m sure it’s possible, it’s a plant after all. But was just curious about the amount of light being outside vs inside. Is there anyone in my area who grows outdoors who can tell me how long it generally takes until flower when growing outdoors during this time of year? My plant’s strain is forbidden fruit.


Also, total hobby gardener and am just having a go at growing my own bud for personal use only.

It’s day light times trigger flower besides in autos. Plant in like April may maybe March by you too. Or extend hours by light. I had a plant that was huge, but a street lights glow hit part it, andpart was in flower, part none. Lol

Autos will work whenever. They mostly suck though imo. A seed won’t jump into flower though right away. It takes a month or so. It may be ok, and preflower up and revert back to veg mode

I don’t think my plants are auto flowering. Jeez- so in a month after sprouting my little guy could already go into flower being outside. Would you say that’s a bad thing? That’s not too early? I was hoping to mainline this guy (I did it to my last one I grew and it responded well, but turned out to be a male). I’ve heard the sun is Best light there is, so maybe a month is all an outside plant needs (in a sunny area) to grow six nodes in four weeks?

It’s light schedule bro. You veg inside say 18 on 6 off, flower 12 on 12 off. This little window in between is varying by strain so it could jump into flower once it gets about a ft tall. Then revert or finish strain and such depending. So if you plant now do autos to start. Then come March April may look at your zone # and it will sAy. The plant. Finish will be July-oct on most everything regular. Usually September to October but I’ve had November December sativa too

@Dankonomics_genetics is right about the lighting. It will probably start to flower in a few weeks with the amount of daylight hours we are receiving this time of the year. I plan on growing outdoors as well this year and plan on putting them out around May. The daylight hours should be long enough starting then to keep it in veg until August when they will start to flower.Use the page below to get a graph of the daylight hours. just put your zip code in the search box.

Would you say I should try and bring it back in and then take it back outside around May?

Do you think it going into flower so soon would have an adverse effect on the yield I could be getting from this one plant if I were to keep it outside starting now?

Toy could ring it back inside, but I would check it for creepy crawlers first. There's always the 'chance' it may have bugs, but you could also be fine with it. I'm also in Texas and using that chart I plan on a May planting date (weather permitting).

Oh great! That I did not know, definitely makes me feel better. I have a couple of other plants I’m starting in a closet at the moment, as well. And based on the chart you sent, I’ll place those outside around the same time as you- in May or late April. But it’s nice to know I’ll be able to peck a few buds off my plant that’s already begun to grow outside. Thanks dude!
