Quiet Inline Exhaust Fan

Currently running a 4x4 tent and 3x3. Each tent is pulling around 190CFM through a 4" fan.

I found something called a AC Infinity Cloudline T6 that moves 351CFM @ 32db. Its programmable with a theromostat.

Any thoughts on using this to exhaust at least my 4x4 tent running a 600w hps?

the little 4 inch fans i have bought wear out after 1-1.5 years...

If your fans are wearing out then the problem could be coming from you setup. Poor intake will do this. They should run for a couple years without problems.

As for noise I have no experience with the one you list but another option is running a larger fan at lower voltages. A sound buffer box or duct muffler also work well.

thanks for the reply.

i have a large enough intake, 6".

noise is not an issue as i live alone in my own house, just looking for more CFM's at lower db level (since most cheap fans i have bought for amazon have crapped out within a year or two, thought i would buy something nicer).

temps in my tent don't get above 80-85, but more airflow should drop those temps a little more.

6" passive? If so that's too small and is causing your fans to struggle and die. You'd want two 5" holes or one 11" hole

Get a 6" or 8" fan and run it at a low setting for the second part.

i'll open another passive intake on the tent

no, but they are in the price range i am considering, will look closer now.

you have personal experience?
None here, I'm just running a Ipower 4in atm. Once my filter needs to be changed I'm going with a S Line 6 and a inline carbon filter. My fan is outside my tent but I want my filter outside too so I can reclaim the head room.

i agree, i am looking at moving fan outside of tent also. like what i see with the S Lines. slighty better amazon rating than what i was looking at.

that CFM should be fine, any more and your air filter will stop working unless its rated for the flow. When i had a 4x4 with a 180 CFM fan I didn't have problems running a 1000w MH/HPS with temps in the 75-85 range.

Right now I have a 6" inline that is 59db 460 CFM in a 5x9x6.5 that I have voltage turned down to 85v to lower CFM to below 350 so odors don't get through and that is still 4x per minute turn over. noise db fell about 10db.

I bought this fan for 100 CAD, I was skeptical about it compared to the pricing of the vortex brand ones but it works superb. http://www.growlights.ca/fans-filters-ventilation/inline-fans/6-inch-inline-fan.html

Was tossing the idea around for the can fan q max or hyperfan stealth and chose this one I. The 6” since I got for $98 after incentives with card and price on what site that a good bit cheaper than others. Not sure if we can post pricing.

Let you all know how she goes just acquiring all the goods now. Going to run in a 6x2x8 closet myself.

I went and MacGyver'ed a inline filter. Taking my 4x12 and mounting it in a bucket with flanges for intake and exhaust. I'll take some pics and make a separate post about it.

cool, i have done my fair share of macgyvering things over the years. now i can finally afford a little better quality stuff, kinda why i am looking to upgrade.

with that said, i'm always interested in other peoples engineering, so share a link or pic...
