I'm gonna give a little prequel of my first grow before the journal for number 2.

A Little Prequel From Grow One

Well, I started out with 5 plants for my first grow. It was done in my 5 foot x 3 foot closet in which I don't keep anything else.

I lost three plants early on - beginning of week two.

I kept over analyzing things for my other plants trying to keep them alive. They ended up getting infested with gnats. I tried fly paper, and I saw just how bad it was. Within 6 hours of having one single 8.5 inch x 11 inch paper out near my plants, I caught 12 gnats - 4 of which were decent size. It's now the middle of week 4, and I've decided to kill off the last two plants. I was going to be spending way too much time, money, effort trying to fix a problem that was out of hand enough as it was. There was no telling how much larva had been laid, and how many more gnats there were - since I saw more flying around. The bottom leaves were turning a bright yellow, and leaves were drooping like crazy.

Onto Grow Two.

In a couple days I will start my second grow. Instead of 5 plants, I will plant 27 of unknown strains. (I have plenty of seeds), all mixed together. I figured a couple days so that I could let things settle down in my closet, and get rid of all the gnats, and MAKE SURE that everything is gone.

Two of the new plants will be ones used for experimentation. Instead of 100% distilled water, I will use 90% Fiji/Distilled Water, 10% Vodka. One the other, I will use 90% Fiji/Distilled Water, 10% Kool-Aid.

All the other plants will use 100% Fiji/Distilled Water.

Currently, I have 50 seeds germinating under my bathroom sink. I will check them at 7:00AM Saturday morning (which will be 24 hours since beginning of germinating) and then continue to check every 12 hours after that.

This is my second grow, and I will keep everyone up to date with pictures, news, etc.

So far, one of the seeds has sprouted. I'm going to let it get a little bigger before I plant it.

OH, and feel free to comment, people. I can use any input y'all have.

So far, most of what I have left to do is cosmetic stuff. I had some boxes on the sides of my closet, so all I had to work with was the back 3 foot wide wall.

I'm in the process of moving everything away from one of the sides. I have small white shelves (which you will see in the pictures) about 4 feet off the floor, and I plan on taking the one on the left side out. The growing will be changed to growing along that side for more room when the plants get bigger. The back will stay, but only because it's easy for my to store the germinating seeds, nutes and excess materials. The back floor space will hold the water, extra soil, mix, etc. etc.

The pictures below are of what it's like in the process of moving things around. I didn't leave anything like this during my first grow. I promised pictures (not like anyone's reading or viewing), and I have some.

I'll get more when the room is finished. I still have to find a place to get mylar, and get an exhaust. I was thinking of cutting a hole in the closet door and having a fan constantly pushing in through that, and having another hole where fresh oxygen and co2 can come in with another fan pulling.

2) This is of the back shelf I mentioned holding excess materials and germinating seeds and nutes. No nutes are there right now because I have yet to get some. The plate with the giant bulb over it is my germinating seeds. It actually works very well, dunno why. It's the cover of my bedrooms lamp.

3) This is of the water, miracle grow - organic mix, and a small bucket of dirty/muddy water and dead plants I have yet to throw out because I keep forgetting when I go somewhere. I dropped some soil in the big tub of water, so that'll have to be changed out too. I'm going to work on a filtration system in a week or two.

4) A top view of some of the things from the first grow. It's all a mess, and I didn't have it like that when there was actually seeds in the pots. I'm going to get rid of them and get dixie cups though. Cheaper in the long run, and I can get more cups for a dollar than I can pots. The light on the strings actually has a pully type setup where I could level it easy. Figured it was good for just having a couple plants. This coming time I'm going to have about 27 plants, so I'm going to be purchasing a hps, either 600 or 1000 watt, depending on the responses I get and what people suggest.
