ratio of plants m2

o.k i sort ov know the answer myself,but im not sure as to watt the persifics are to this method.

anyway im growing in a space ov 4 foot width x 8 foot length and 6 foot high
i need sum of the space to use for bits n bobs and so i can get in the room, i have reserved 1ft x 4ft as my entrance so that leaves me with a space of 4x5 ft or i could just say 4x4 ft. so my calculations are that for every plant i need 1 square foot so thats 4 plants right. 6 if i go 4x5ft grow space and 1x4 entrance space. but wat if i was to scrog or sog . can i just put as many as possible in that space and train the plants , i dunno ???

oh and im using a 400w hps soil grow.

hmm, might wanna check those maths, if your reserving a 4x4 space that gives you 16 sq foot, which allows you 16 plants providing adequate lighting is supplied.

4 foot by 4 foot = 4 plants at 1 plant for every foot ? thats my calcultion. but 4x4 squared = 16 plants because 4x4=16,

i get it , every foot in length i can plant a row of 4 plants width . so yes i can do 16 plants , but then it comes down to my lighting, is 400w enough for 16 plants, i guess in scrog i could do 16 . so if im doing 9 seeds but i only get a few females, i may as well take cuttings and veg the lot for another 4-6 weeks and train and topp my mothers... this is gonna be fun but its gonna take a while.

how did you get a room like that?? It looks pretty decent. If the room is 4' Wide and 4' long, you would multiply 4X4 to get the square footage. Use a calculator if you have to, Check your answer by dividing the answer you get by four. VV

well its up in an attic, n its made out of black plastic and blankets and boards lol.
this is basically the 1st grow in it, so im just experimenting again, but hopfully next year i might do a decent scgrog or summet...

u dont have to do a scrog or sog for ur space u can go normal. u could even put up a divider and do 8 plants per side so u have a veg and a bloom room and use the xtra room u have for clones. thats what i would do. sog only seems viableif u have enuf dividers to get a continual harvest. i think that it why it was invented. grow em smaller and come to harvest quicker and u can get more in the sq footage u have
