Really Neat Bulbs I Found

Not only do these bulbs supply enough kelvin and lumens for veg but they also give off co2 naturally, get rid of smell and fiight off bacteria and fungus. I am creating a new double closet system and I will be using these in the veg closet (I will journal it as well). This is awesome nanotechnology. It's like they were designed for us growers in mind. Multiple use and they are designed and work better running 24 hours a day. Very cool. Heres the link.

I would have a little concern with those. Although they seem to have some good qualities, they could have some bad qualities as well. According to their list of things it kills, it killing bacteria and fungi would worry me some. There are some good bacteria and some good fungi that plants use. I doubt those lights distinguish between good and bad. Good idea but I think it needs some further investigating for growing.

Those look pretty interesting. Expensive but hopefully worth it! Give them a shot and tell us how it works. Very curious to know if there any good.

I am probably gonna get the three pack of the full spectrum 42 watt for higher lumen and kelvin temp. The deal would sound good but it's cool. I decided to go with these bulbs because I was going to originally have a 400 watt hps in flower chamber and MH 400 in my veg chamber. I wouldve also been spending another $150 for the Co2 Boost system. Overall I cut $200 out of my budget by including these bulbs and they will scrub some odor for me as well. All around plus for my situation. I will repost on this when I get it goin.

Looks good but doesn't say how hot they get or how much co2 they produce and they are still very expensive:blsmoke:

Agreed. I am not so sure they are worth it. I use CFL's and I cant see myself buying these anytime soon. If I did I would get 3 or 4 and just spread them out around the house, and try to eliminate some odor that way. Dont think I would rely on them in my grow area.

well id didnt read the whole tread yet but i dont think any 23w cfl will produce 10,000 lumens that is just being ridiculous, i mean come on,, 10,000 lumens, if that were so they would cost 100's of dollars.

oh ha its 10,000 lux not lumens,,,, BIG difference.
Lux versus lumen

The difference between the lux and the lumen is that the lux takes into account the area over which the luminous flux is spread. 1000 lumens, concentrated into an area of one square metre, lights up that square metre with an illuminance of 1000 lux. The same 1000 lumens, spread out over ten square metres, produces a dimmer illuminance of only 100 lux.
So basically if you have these bulbs up very close to your plants in a confined space they will emit that amount of lux.:blsmoke:

Ide be concerned about having a couple of these... remember... plants can get CO2 poisoning just like we cant take pure oxygen very well.

My 2 cents.

Don't know how this thread got to talking about CO2. These bulbs don't produce CO2, they produce ozone to kill smell. I agree they are expensive but the introductory offer of $9.99 is worth it for the odor conrol only (if it works). If it burns out and still produces ozone, I might leave it in for the odor control alone.

Lol.
Reduces harmful microorganisms from the air.
O•ZONELite's photocatalytic action reduces harmful microorganisms that are constantly circulating through the air, into harmless CO2 (carbon dioxide, which is expelled during respiration) and H2O (water), completely eliminating microorganisms, making the O-ZONELite™ completely safe for people and pets.

Creates a positive sweet fresh air smell.
O-ZONELite™ DOES NOT EMIT OZONE.The name O-ZONELite™' was chosen because ozone is created electrically during thunderstorms. This electrical discharge, ozone, creates a positive fresh sweet smell that we know as fresh air.

I was assuming it emmitted ionized air but reading further, it some mumbo jumbo about titanium dioxide. Although the thread in Wilkepedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium_dioxide) states titanium dioxide has photocatalyst properties under certain circumstances.

Chemistry was never my strong suit but some of the links in the wilkepedia article do mention CO2 production, Redox (shorthand for reduction/oxidation reaction) and so on.

It's most likely hype but for $9, I'll amuse myself :)
