Really old trim

So a friend of mine calls me last night and says get over here now and bring your bags. Im like huh? The hell are you talking about? I get over there and this guy pulls out an old cardboard box loaded with trim he forgot about from when he inherited a ton of plants from a friend to finish them out. Anyways this trim is like 6+ years old. I ran it thru my bubble bags and pulled a good amount of what appears to be pretty good hash, its still drying and I'm new to making hash so it would be tough to give an estimate. Has anyone ever encountered anything like this where you are using really old material? We are gonna test it out later today to see what its like. Maybe make some edibles with it. I know thc degrades if not stored properly, but it was all in a dry box in a climate controlled garage and away from light, so idk. We were both definitely surprised at what we got from it :)

I should have snapped one before we ran the trim. The old trim didn't smell like anything other than plant material so I was quite surprised. Ill get a pic later today.

6 years in your garage?
I wouldn't have bothered.. but it will definitely be nice and sedative

Hash may be OK, But I'd prefer to cook with it, easier to remove all those fungi spores ...lol

No its not? Cooking doesn't remove the spores or else smoking would do the same.

Have to run the hash through a micron syringe and that doesn't remove toxins. Not that being old automatically means there's mold

i had a look at it and i think we def yielded quite a few trichs but the thc had to be almost completely degraded. I chopped up a small amount of the smallest catch bag and it looked great, but smelled like some kind of ground spice you might buy at the grocery store. I put a small amount on some good bud and it made it taste like an old box. All in all, it gave me the chance to practice running trimmings but the product was degraded to the point of not being worth anything. So dont set your trim aside for 6 years in a garage. Ha.
