Recommended dwc nutes?

For my soil grows I've been using GH maxi series, which seems to be doing just fine as far as I can tell. Is that suitable for dwc? My local hydro place didn't recommend dry nutes for dwc. He recommended a water based nutrient coupled with a silica and an enzyme. But I don't really know what those are. Any advice?

I have been running hydro DWC for years and have used House and Garden. It's more expensive of the nutes but in my opinion worth every penny. I always get extremely good yields and always top quality buds. Easy to use also , with website giving precise directions and amounts of each thing.

So you just run 7-9-5 start to finish? Sounds like lots of n and not enough k, I'm no pro though.

I hear mostly good things about house and garden, but I also hear its missing a lot of required micros

I have never heard that but who knows. In the decade I have been growing hydro I have always been pleased I run Aqua Flakes A and B, Roots Excellarator, multi zen, bud xl, drip clean , top booster, shooting powder, and Terpinator(not house and garden but def worth it). And my plants love it and I consistently pull a pound minimal per 1000W while only doing 4 plants under 2-1000's of extremely high quality bud

Has anyone ever tried a 3 parter by Growmore? According to monsterplants dot com, its basically the flora series with a lower application rate and a better micro.

I switched to blue planet nutrients about a year ago.. absolutely love them... and super cheap. I have used cyco, house and gardens, heavy 16 and botanicare in the past, blue planet has been my favorite and saved a ton of money to boot.

I will check those out. But if you want to talk about saving cash, I've been using the maxi series off of the same 2 bags for one year. Its about halfway gone. $30 combined.

i use botanicare pbp in all my hydro. dwc, nft, whatever. the ladies are usually happiest at about 650-700 ppm (1.3-1.4 ec) in dwc. whichever nute line you end up going with, silica is definitely a good idea. for beneficial bacteria, i recommend hydroguard in conjunction with pondzyme w/barley. these two products together have been very effective for me- in some gardens i have worked in, res temps have gotten up to 76f with minimal to no root problems. pbp additives that ive found to be useful/effective are sweet raw, hydroplex, vitamino, liquid karma, silica blast, hydroguard, and obviously calmag.

if you prefer to stick with gh, look into the lucas formula with the flora series. i havent used it myself, but i have seen others use it successfully, and its very simple. if you go this route, i suggest diluting (or adjusting dosage) to around 650 ppm. the standard lucas formula seems to run a bit too strong for my liking. also, if you are not using r/o water, remember to get the hard water micro. if you are using r/o water, get the standard micro, and you will probably need to throw in some calmag.

a friend of mine uses the two part B.C. system with dechlorinated tap water and gets good results. i havent used this either, but i have smoked the end result, and it definitely holds up.

your maxi series stuff should work just fine, too. i have heard/read of people running it successfully in hydro. but personally, ive never been a fan of dry nutes for hydroponic applications.

there are tons of options for nutes out there, most of them will do you well when you get them dialed in. the only thing i can recommend against is advanced nutrients. i dont want to get into the whole an bashing thing, but suffice to say that i have have their products to be most inefficient.

Yo that pondzyme could be detrimental to ur plants use carfully ive used this product by accident as i use koi pond water for microbe tea's it does NoT help bacuillis production so if ur using it in a pond id cease use also.. barley bails will produce bacuillis bacteria that will eat bad algeas...enzymes an acids will change ppm fyi.hydroguard or h2o2...

I really like to use dry stuff - I'm using Masterblend but I've heard good things about Jacks. I use in both my Dutch Buckets and DWC, although I'm enjoying the DB's more. I run 4-18-38 fertilizer with Calcium Nitrate and Epsom salts in a 2:2:1 mix. I add Great White mycorrhizae to my DB's but don't think it would do as much in a DWC. I add CES Sour-Dee as a sweetener when I go into flower on the DWC but all the time with the DB's - the bennies love carbs. Then I run AN Flawless Finish in the flush to help get rid of the hydro taste. The DWC is giving acceptable results but my DB's under MH and HPS are so big I had to tie down my SCROG as the plants were lifting it off the ground and creating tree trunks as big around as quarters.
