I went to a local dispensary today for a pit stop after voting to sample some of local weed on such bright and sunny day. Turns out it was a recreational dispensary not a compassion club but licensed for 19 and older.

I bought 3 pre rolled Blueberry joints for $10 busted one up and vaporized it and got ripped at the beach.

Its kind of nice to be able to get legal weed , cop drove past me as i left the store weird being in this limbo state not legal but legal , anyways Its looking like the future is friendly. Pot friendly anyways in my little backwoods city.

I read the title of the thread and thought, that's weird I smoked some cannabis recreationally in Port Alberni the first time 30 years ago LOL

They do require a piece of ID and your license to join...they don't do BM sales ....only med patients like you or me. But you say your good to go and grow..so you'd be okay.

The store I went to today only requirement was being over the Age of 19 she specifically said they are different then the compassion clubs in that its not medical.
She pointed at the business license on the wall and said over 19 is the only requirement.
Vancouver does recreational as well probably lots more places now that laws will be changed.

Pot friendly future here we come haha

So what kind of license exactly would that be? I don't get the whole being licensed from the city but not from the government. Don't get me wrong, I like it but just don't understand how it works? Nice to see the changes though.

Business license , much like in the states where each state can set its law each municipality gets to set its by-law , more so it sells / issues business licensees to allow lawful operation of the business.

So cops can't shut it down and charge them if they want? Seems weird that the government says one thing and the cities or provinces can just ignore it and do whatever.

The cops can raid and shut them down as it is still illegal, the municipalities just sold them a license to operate a store front. No different than what Vancouver did. This particular dispensary, apparently, doesn't require medical proof.
