Red only, or Red and White for Flowering?

Have Area 51 RW 75 and used only white on free autos and pretty sure flowering has started due to yellow/white hairs on top(thread on auto section). Do i now use only red or keep them both on for max light? Thanks.

as theirs no such thing as seen by the plant as 'white' light

stick to red(2700 kelvin) only as its this red that stimulates the hormones for seed set

allowing the budding process to proceed in the dark 12x12 off time

white light is actually cool white or light in the 6500 kelvin range

used to stimulate horizontal growth. leaf matter during veg

red /2700 kelvin colored light goes opposite in veg ..makes the plant go vertical

its important to keep this in mind once in flower/bud, red is all you need

ask any hps user

good luck

The lamp he's using has single diodes, red and white. Using just the red would restrict the output potential and the spectrum would be unbalanced.

2700K is a soft white, not the same as what the lamp is using.

Also as its auto, 12/12 reduces growth. Still deciding between 18/6 and 20/4. Ill use them both as thats what i thought would be best.

There is no evidance to support that cooler or blue light increases foliage or node spacing. Prof Bugbe at Utah state who is one of the leading experts on plant lighting has much evidance to support this. Photons are more important for photosynthesis than spectrum.

Maybe not from the "official science community", but I'd definitely take notice of SuperAngryGuy's testing - he's done quite a bit of it:
