Hey today i made my own grow area out of cardboard, and i know cardboard isnt the best and fire hazard n shit but i was wondering if i absolutely need to paint it and/or put mylar in...i will be using 2 40w cfl and i know reflection would help alot but do i need it?.... Even with these bulbs?
Ps- i plan to keep my plant small so thats why im using only 2 40 watts for 1 plant.

Reflection is always better than no reflection. 2 40w cfl's is not a lot of light for even one small plant. Use relflection.

I don't know about mylar at Walmart. I use white paint. Almost as good and easier to apply. You can find mylar on line at hydro stores.

Cardboard is probably the worst thing you can grow in.
Cardboard absorbs moisture. Which will attract mold and fungus.

Hi mate i had always used white masonary paint, but for my latest grow i have used mylar as a reflector in my grow room and i think it has made a difference.
As for price it is less than £1 for a square metre.

Glossy not flat.

I'm sure its flat not glossy, and as previously stated cardboard will absorb moisture and grow fungus give your grow a better chance and start with a decent set up to avoid future problems. Tin foil is horrible at reflecting light, Do not use!!
