no. go to the store. find some soil there. look for something organic.

dont buy soil with time release nutes in it. most of the MG soils as well as others sold at shitty hardware stores have them in it. they are the little white balls in soil. it should say on the bag if it has it. this is the biggest beginner mistake when buying soil. it can be used but you have a much higher chance of frying your plants.

also try to stay away from anything that says "moisture control" or something like that. this can easily cause root rot

Do as I did. If you want to go the organic route get the new Miracle Gro Organic Choice potting mix. Its about 6$ for a huge bag a Lowe's or Home Depot. Its worked great for me so far. The Nute percentage in it isn't that high and it has poultry litter in it (CHICKEN POOP) which is great as a concentrated fertilizer. Happy growing....

you sure can use soil from your backyard. that is, if you want shitty soil that has lots of bugs that are going to eat and kill your plant. otherwise drop 2 bucks and get a bag at the store...
