Remote Monitoring and Controls

What is everyone using to monitor their growing environment? I am looking for something that I can keep a check on my humidity and temps from my phone and remotely turn on or off fans, lights, etc. I've found sonoff and it is cheap enough. I am considering the 4 channel pro for switching needs and the th model to monitor my environment. I've only started looking into this so I'm open to suggestions.

I aim one of my security cams at my control center where I can see all of the info I need remotely from my phone or on my television in my house. When my power goes out I get a note from my smart meter and I know my standby gen is on , then I watch my security cams to rest assured lights, home, etc is powered up.

The only system I've read about is cloudponics. It's expensive and not worth it for a micro grow IMO although I don't know your setup.

WiFi plugs and timers are the only other alternative I can think of. Problem with wifi plugs is you must be within wifi coverage area to operate, so not very remote. I know there's clever ways to rig thermostats so in the event temp gets too high or low a fan will kick on/off.

I am looking more for the monitoring/data collection devices than automation. Not really wanting to get into the micro pc stuff either if I can help it.

Looks interesting. Please let me know how that works out for you.
Will do. Should be here today. It looks perfect for the little bit of monitoring I need. There's another attachment you can buy for $100 that allows checking connection to your WiFi thus monitoring from anywhere. I don't think I need that but could be cool lol.

That's more of what I am looking for(wifi based) but I am wanting something lower cost. The sonoff TH series is wifi based so should be able to monitor it from anywhere but there is no data collection with it but it is cheaper...

What I've used in the past has just been the indoor/outdoor weather station with the data head on top of my box. This one works by Bluetooth with a decent range so I thought it was an improvement. I've never needed to check from afar in the past so... But it is cool so there's that lol.

So what stands out is the range of the device. I'm running a Samsung S7 so I know it's not the phone. Bluetooth can only do so much

If you'd want to monitor from across the house you might be disappointed. This fits my needs as I won't have a device on top of my "stealth-ish" box. I've been checking from the immediate box location so this works. $50? Not sure. Lol I do like it though.

I would not, however, pay the additional $100 for WiFi access.

Actually, I take that back. I'm as far away as I can be in my house and I just got a reading. That's pretty cool.
