For max photosynthesis that's the best temp. Check my signature, it has to do with how a plants metabolism is driven by temperature.. Not to mention cost savings and heating in the winter... But 75F is much easier to manage and I do walk a fine line but it is the max output. My temps range from 81-86 and you will notice a difference pretty quick.

when it gets into the -10-30F out then I shouldn't need to heat my house. When I have all my lights on that is lol.

It depends on type of light/spectrum plus a few environmental factors actually. Optimal left temp under HPS is very different than under cobs. Uv/ir plays a big part in this.

UV makes up less than .5% of the total light coming out of a DE/HPS... Its so marginal it doesn't really benefit at all especially if you have a vented glass hood. This was proven when people put the Gavita in a sphere. That said the 10K finisher light puts out a good amount and comes in DE and standard HPS... And has a much better CRI. IR honestly seems like a waste in power but ill know that for sure after my side by side.

Also if you look it does not depend on light intensity, as it goes up at the same rate as a lesser temp.

For instance if you only have 500PPFD at 86F and 1000PPFD at 77F the plant photosynthesis would only be marginally different, at HALF the light amount!

As little as the percentage of uv may be(I think ir has an affect on photosynthesis as well?), cobs with no uv photosynthesize better mid 80s and hps does better mid-high 70s. It's also strain dependant, some like it hotter and others like it cooler. Part of this is knowing the genetics you're running.

I'll agree it's genetics based as well, however it's not the type of light it's usable light by plants, check the signature.. I've done a few tests. The graph dictates PAR and temp I'm not sure why you think that either IR or uv are important to photosynthesis.. We aren't talking triks or terps here

Far red is only for on and off of lights and doesn't benefit plants other than waking them up and putting them to sleep faster.. That's the Emerson effect. Yes red is used but not so much far red... Still a bit lost what that has to do with the PAR output/ temperature situation.

1526W/32 sq ft=47W/sq ft, I'm at 37.5 and I think I'm having trouble utilizing that kind of intensity efficiently.

Why so high and what are you looking to gain by it? I'm pretty sure you won't get a proportional increase in yield, or perhaps none at all. I noticed I didn't get much more yield when I went to the above intensity, but quality was sure top shelf!

Should I turn them down a little. My girls love it so far. No problem to add my dimmers. Already have them waiting.

I haven't added to this in a while, but with the heat climbing close to 100 here, I have an update! In past summers, I removed at least 400 watts in an attempt to cool things off. I regularly had temps 85+ in the flower room.

Yesterday we broke heat records and my flower room went as high as 76 degrees and that's it! There is a 2 degree difference from the rest of the basement. That, to me is unreal. I can actually grow in the summer now and not just battle heat and everything that goes along with it.

900 watts of Cobs FTW! Oh, and quality/quantity is better as well
