Res Changes

After discovering a layer of salt at covering the bottom of the resevoir I decided now was time for a res change, changing a 90l resevoir is a total nightmare when everything is in a basement, I had to use the pump to empty the water into buckets and carry them back and forth and then once again to fill it back up, there has to be a much easier method than this, maybe when I get a bit of cash i might invest in a good ro system but until then does anyone else have an easier method. The pump will not pump it all the way up the stairs of the basement.

Dont know if this will solve your problem but its relitivly cheap an d you probably have agarden hose already? This product comes from pet stores and is for removing hazardous or dirty water from fish tanks it is called a PYTHON it works on the principle of a forced syphon and works off any tap(comes with adapters). It costs about twenty bucks and is pretty efficiant 50 us gallons in about 5 mins depending on water pressure also fills as you just close it at the tap.You do have to watch for debris in the trap at the notom as it will clog (removal of this is easy 1 philips screw) hope this helps you out!

...a basement without a floor drain? Really? Wow.

You might be able to daisy-chain some pumps on a single hosepipe. If your pump will support 4' of head (water column in the specified hose/tube diameter), it should take 2 or at worst 3 pumps to raise the water out of your basement.

The siphon-jet method sounds like it would use a lot of water. Seen those used with waterbeds.
