Reusing soil for CHEMICAL grow

Hey guys, I know people reuse soil for organic grows.. I have older soil than Id like to use with house and garden nutes (to compare to my organic grow.) Is this ok to do? I was going to add aeration to it atleast.

You can give your soil a good leaching and know the soil will start off low on most stuff. Since you're planning to feed anyway, as long as your nutes are well balanced with all macro and micro needs, you'll probably be okay. Check you soil ph at least.

For more precision, you really want to know the salt levels and any amendment needs, imo, which is best done with a soil test. For small batches it is just plain cheaper to buy new soil than to do a proper soil test.

I'd say the harder you pushed that soil last time with nutes, the better the idea just to get new stuff. Just my 2 cents.

its done all the time here . just pull the major root ball out and add dirt to refill the pot . mix it well

I used to all the time. I would flush it with RO water, bake it at 150*F to kill any pathogens, then flush it with RO water again.

i did nothing . i let it sit for a few weeks to let the old roots do there thing

I've tried ocean forest, roots organic multiple times (when I didn't mix my own,) what are your guys favorite? Going to get the bag, and just add aeration to it.

I think the biggest problem you got to worry about is salt build up and PH problems. Good luck.

I always reuse my soil just add some fresh soil to the pile n mix it good n proper

pro mix . good and cheap .

locate the nearest soil maker in ur hood

mostly old strange and very hidden,

for their own reasons

can be found in ur CO-OP

It's very upsetting how little garden centers we have locally. I decided against buying any bagged soil, I already have everything I need to make my own anyways.

Last question, who's used promix to make organic soil? It seems like a solid base, just add extra aeration and your compost/EWC whathaveyou.

SO the best bagged soil in my opinion is vermifire, but keep in mind this was 7 yrs ago or so that I was using it, but it's the base of much of my soil

also a reaaaaally good additive for something that's had chelated salts is GYPSUM
it's tailor made for high sodium soils, and I'd totally be alllllll over that if I were re-using a chelated soil mix
past that, if you composted the soil that'd totally be fine too, probably would work the best in fact
but of course takes time

I helped design my buddys MASSIVE outdoor grow (200+ plants in 200 gal containers) with the promix
the promix hp good for a base, just watch the additional liming ingredients as it's already d-limed
so maybe go a lil light on the oyster meal, crab shell, shrimp meals
but yea, add a lil more aeration, and of course never forget the compost/EWC for the fresh microbial diversity and humus

If you amend it in this way, you should be good.

Hey there brother, nice to see you! Right on, I actually checked vermifire and it looks solid! I decided I'd rather buy a big bag of promix and amend it myself, I already have a bunch of amendments anyway.

House and Garden sent me a FULL set of nutrients for 15$ last year, so I'm going to do a fun comparison grow. Idk if I want my precious Bodhi to experience chemicals lol!

I couldn't imagine having multiple 200gal pots going!! So jealous, I have neighbors on all sides of me.. Trying to make some sort of small greenhouse so I can grow outdoors as well. Do you grow outdoors Grease?
