its all good if theres no faith lol. im still picking up one to test ASAP. im doing a decent size order with them and they are gonna hook me up with one at wholesale to test.

1150w to replace 1150w?......... what's the point again? I must be stupid
say what you want, but theres no way in hell you would run this thing at anywhere close to that if you were in a 4x4 tent replacing a 1k SE. my guess would be around 700 to replace a normal 1k. 300+ watts isnt much of a savings if its your only light but it has its advantages of being able to change the spectrum for veg/bloom/finishing etc.

on a lighter note..... i just got this(ceramic colutions DE630 CMH 3k-R) in the mail and will be putting it in a side by side against a DIY COB rig(10 cxm22s @ ~65w each). gonna do equal watts at the plug and see how that goes.

it's "brighter! and the driver doesn't come with 7 years of warranty.
their main business is avionics and use the same grade of parts in their lighting. im hardly worried about longevity compared to any other garden lighting product out there. I can build a badass COB array for about 600 that will cover the fuck out of a 4x4 with ease. lets say 700ish to cover a 5x5. i would probably run 2 HLG320s at full strength or two 480s and dim slightly. ive never tried to veg under my flowering arrays at 3k-3.5K but maybe i should try it and see how they do. point being, i cant change the spectrum. maybe i should do a mix of spectrum in my next build?

obviously these arent for everyone but i think at the price point they are a great deal for anyone too afraid to DIY, or someone who just doesnt care to. i will get one to test out in the next couple months and will have a well documented journal with it.

LOL............................ask revolution micro what Phillips/ osram bins their using?, that should be fun. At the efficiency levels people are currently messing with in here, nothing but top bin(which their not at this price) might match cob/boards/strips...... so what's the point again? :) roi on just no bulb swaps won't cut it for most.

So you think proprietary(China) drivers on their FIRST attempt at a led grow light are gonna beat long standing market leader MW?

Also should have gone with a dimlux630, sunsystems 630cmh, 2 arcs under 1 envelope are notorious underperformers .....i would return if possible?. Yes your cxm cob fixture will beat it in output, coverage, yield.

Nice room though...... good luck on your venture

first off, im not trying to argue or be combative in any and hope im not coming across as such. im by no means an expert in anything LED or electrical for that matter lol.

now that the disclaimer is out of the way..... they arent made in china.

AEROSPACE QUALITY, RELIABILITY, AND PERFORMANCE

Revolution Micro is proud to bring new levels of innovation, quality and precision to controlled environment agriculture. All Revolution products are completely designed and engineered in-house from the ground-up—no copies or clones! Everything is manufactured at our ISO-certified, automotive and aerospace qualified factory in Thailand. All parts are sourced and traceable to ISO standards. With over 250,000 electronic products delivered, we are proud of our perfect record of zero customer returns in 2014, zero in 2015, and a total of six (6) pieces in 2016 (out of tens of thousands). In short, we are as obsessive about quality as you are!

Previously this level of engineering had been the exclusive reserve of navigation, avionic and life-safety systems. Now indoor growers and stakeholders can predict, produce and protect huge financial returns from their indoor growing facilities, building a solid foundation for consistent delivery of high-value crops and ongoing expansion. Revolution’s audio and industrial products are also getting solid reviews from OEMs and consumers alike, and Revolution control systems are currently operating in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia.

Revolution was founded by Greg Richter who has over thirty years of electronic design and systems engineering experience. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Richter has lived off-grid with his own hydro-electric power, built and flown his own Cozyjet single-turbine jet airplane and revolutionized both aircraft instrumentation and automated agriculture. His designs can be found in retail stores, recording studios, radio stations, aircraft and ships with a select few still orbiting overhead.

as far as should have bought this or that, the verdict is still out. i have not run the others and have nothing to base that off of. i just wanted a simple turn key solution to cover a small area and test results. not claiming its the best out there or anything, but for the price it warrants a review.

this is all about testing new tech and seeing what works for me in my situation. it will appeal to some and apparently disgust others lol. i am slightly biased towards revolution micro because of the great lengths they have gone in customer service but you wont see any sway in the results because of that. the numbers wont lie and im definitely not claiming these will beat out DE lights or corner the market, i just think it is a solid option in a market full of lesser quality options.

truth is the people capable of DIY COB setups will almost always choose to build. not only is it a huge amount cheaper but you can tune the specs to your needs. i am extremely frugal and you wont see me going out and buying 10 of these untested, but if i can hit a GPW or more and get at least a 4x4 coverage i would love to have a turn key option for when i need multiple.

the one thing you can count on from me is unaltered test results. good or bad you guys will get to see how they perform without losing anything but a few minutes of your life. i will be the first to tell you if they are crap, amazing or just OK. obviously im hoping its a game changer but it may just be an even swap. even if they perform dead even it would still be nice to have interchangeable spectrum for veg.

i will ask what bin diodes they use. hopefully that will help lay some doubt to rest.

@PSUAGRO. im definitely not steering people away from COBs. COBS are the shit and dollar for dollar a DIY COB will kill it in almost any setup compared to a premade LED rig. im with you for the most part and i know that my new COB rig is gonna destroy that new DE CMH in just about every aspect but not all of us can drop a bunch of money to build a slick rig. this DE 630 cmh was only $283.50 delivered after the icmag discount. cant fault it for the price. two name brand 315s would have probably been 50% more after buying phillips bulbs

my COB rig is straight evil

Good price, but we're talking 15%+ output bump with 2 Phillips bulbs vs 1 de 630 over the lifetime of the fixture. With a cash crop its a no brainer to not skimp on lighting.

If you want a tunable spd commercial led fixture==heliospectra, lumigro,... proven

im definitely not switching over to DE630s. this was purely a test trial to show the community what they can do. my next upgrade is all DEva 1000s when they drop the aircooled version in 2 months or so. at that point i will pick up one of their LEDs to test out on here as well.

@PSUAGRO. here are the specs on the LEDs. to be honest i dont know what it all means but i said i would ask so here it is.

direct from the owner himself

"We designed for group LR, and all specs are based on that. It's a middle-bin, so we can use LR, LS, or LT bins are be at spec or better without having to make a design change. Cheaper to use the more common parts, and more of them, than to buy boutique bins."

At least he's honest, that's something revolutionary.

"Boutique" top bins a no go, better with more wattage& mid bin chips?......sounds like a mars hydro business strategy, lol

Now their proprietary drivers really worry me

No game changer here, not even close

Wait, you really buying one of these?

Don't forget to crank it up to 1150w....
yeah. im getting one at wholesale when i buy my DE lights from them. i will do a dedicated test tent just for this light to see what it can do. like i said, im not gonna go off and buy 10-20 untested. Do i think it will contend with their DE light?? no, i dont think so but who knows? do i think it will be better than the cheap SE ballasts im running right now? fuck yes. i will buy a quantum mq500 meter to test with and will have a machinist make me a grid template for the probe so i get even readings.

i get that you are skeptical of premade LED units. i am as well. why dont you send Greg a message on facebook and talk with him in person over the phone? you may not agree with his product at all but i think you will find that he knows his stuff and their engineering is sound. i was burned by shitty LEDs in the beginning as well. then i started building my own.

i dont see why there is such resistance here? im taking the risk not you. you get to sit back and eat popcorn while i do all the work. you may even get to say i told you so at the end. i hope thats not the case but im willing to test it out and share the results with everyone rather than just shit on it from afar.

im still with you on the fact that a DIY COB is probably the best thing out there in terms of efficiency and if you have the budget and the know how then you should definitely go that route but i also know there are people out there dropping far more than this on premade units and i think this will definitely be a solid option for the price and ease. only time and results will tell

It was the salesman bit, never gos down well.

I wanted one of them deva units as they are quality units and should run the de cmh too. Not sure about the led unit replacing 1150 with 1150 that seems a bit odd, im wondering why they didnt set the max to 700w for better efficiency and still call it a de replacement,Maybe the numbers are shit so they have to match watt for watt. Its all fun and games testing new gear. Good luck.

I'm gonna STFU, good luck on your test run DH.........more grows the better as always

have a good holiday
