Oh yer go easy with the stuf, like 70 different trace elements in it. Super additive though but i and others have been victim of its down sides when being too generous.

I dont use it any more now :-)
A well know grower and seed breeder (Rare Dank himself). Use's 2 different kelp extract's at 1/2 TBL each, at week 3 (soil) and organic. I see what he's doing with that. It's not a bad trick.
Basically your correct. Use it at up potting and done. If up potting is your thing.
His moonshine mix instructions are at his site. In the learning center.
I don't do that mix much....Once in a while for certain strains it works ok. I prefer my own soil mix's.... He doesn't amend Ca with those soils in the moonshine mix ether. I would a bit.

It was super interesting to see

When i added the kelp to my clones in the system

Literally the next day anything that was below the water line doubled in diameter!

Edit to add
Since im hydro I dont need to up pot or worry about root limits

Ive added too much and seen seedlings abort, theres some info on the web about it but i know not what the reason behind it. Some good growers do wait for plants to establish before adding it, dont think its good for flowering but i forget the advice as so long since using it.

Roots enlarging there diameter can be a stress response, again theres info on it but wider root diameter dosent mean more efficient absorbtion.

Good 2 know i figured since its a root stimulant
Doubleing the mass of roots was a good thing?

I guess i have way too much to learn still :)

I think roots thickening is more a protective thing, it increases mass by a lot but surface area only a little :-)

True ,
but i thought fishbone roots where better then spaghetti ?
Root morphology is not somthing ive hit hard, just skimmed really, some species like lettuce have different morphologies than weed. If i knew all this stuff to the letter id have a degree and high paid job in the agro industry, mainly i just want to grow weed although i do grow lettuce and toms when i have the space :-)

I add a small amount to the first dampening water/feed at the up pot.
Then at 2 weeks I do that full strength amending to the water. Maybe a light addition of FUL - HUMIX too. Depends on how they look. Same type of reason why RD is doing it at 3. I want my roots popping a bit earlier. I want the higher K I like to be used pretty much up by 2 weeks to go. High K inhibits THC concentration late.

For my seedling and clone mix
I have been running
1/4 strength bloom formula
With kelp and humic acids and b vitamins

I didnt really word.my answer right.

Instead of mass i meant the diameter of the roots increased to double. And all the fish boning roots

Adds to the surface area correct?

RD spreads too much hyped info, has to be said....

Its obvious none of the naysayers have actually watched or looked into the reaserch

I know dr.whitcomb has been doing plant research since before many of us where born
Who you gonnna believe a PH.D horticulturist with 40 years experience or the Bro scientists?

right, because pot is very hard to grow and ordinary plant scientists know nothing
Pot is like any other plant and i cut through a lot of the bs quite quickly. I have major gripes with a lot of the stuff here and if i can grow with basic shop bought soil and one simple fertilizer so can we all.

I get what your saying though and refreshingly i support what your saying but theres plenty others around who dont overcomplicate it.

Me too! I was just using MG soil with good results, now im gonna go promix and Jack's ferts. My experience is that the air pots are easy to use, have a better rootball than ordinary and gives a little boost to the plant. No rocket fuel, not expensive, no magic.

Please dont get us on the air pots again lol
Took me forever to get off of it lol.
