Strain: Candy Kush Express
Growth: Bushy, lots of branches, medium height
Lights: 2 area 51 RW90
Nutes: H&G Coco A&B, bud xl, bloombastic
Yield: 90 grams bud, 150 grams trim and fluff
Bag Appeal: medium sized buds, look large but very fluffy
Smell: nothing special yet, still have a few weeks of cure left to go.
Taste: again, nothing special, tastes like pot, may develop more with further cure
The High: Floaty. Slightly sleepy right after smoking followed by a bit of energy. Cleaned the kitchen after a few yawns. sticks around for 90-120 minutes
Comments: Grew in a tent with 2 other plants, this was the most dominant, and was the first to finish. Breeder says 48 days to harvest, I ran it to 61 before it showed it was ready. I could really see this producing under a scrog, but there is no density to the buds. Last run with the same setup and pineapple chunk made ROCKS. buds so dense they were hard to break up, these you don't have to worry about breaking apart, more like pinching them together. It's serviceable stuff, but I'm not planning on running this again and I'm zapping the clones. 6/10

there hasn't been anything i've liked of RQS...to me it's a waste of money on the seeds as the end results have all been meh. i can see why you decided to not run them again and are killing off the clones. a 6/10 was kind. bongsmilie

RQS have been one of the best breeders I've tried. Sounds like I'll avoid this strain though, thanks for the report.

I really like their Special Queen. Very solid plant for 3.50$. It doesnt suprise me the auto sucks because, after all, it is an auto.

I was actually interested in RQS' White Widow because you recommended it:

i've thrown a freebie RQS White Widow in before and liked it a lot. if i recall, there was some orange smells to it while in flower but that went away once harvested. it was good and a nice high--enough that i've got my last freebie in veg now to stick in to flower when there is room.
You also praised RQS' White Widow here too:

Subbed-i'm interested in the Dance World and the Royal Caramel too. I've grown a few RQS strains (Special !ueen #1, Special Kush #1, and a White Widow). I liked the Kush#1 and one pheno of the White Widow was very good.
And again here:

hi all! an official year of growing experience now. Strains grown this past year: Royal Queen White Widow - a freebie that was surprisingly good. nice high. Anything that's in blue is recommended!! :-)
So what happened that RQS Widow went from "very good" to only meh?

i liked one pheno of it that i grew and actually forgot about that one. good use of the search button. what happened? sunshine daydream by Bodhi

ETA:

just for you i went and found my grow notes from back then:

grew the RQS special kush #1 and on 4.19.14 i wrote that i liked this better than Emerald Jack because it wasn't as fruity and felt it would be a keeper, but then never grew it again...

grew RQS white widow twice. my notes show once April 2014 but i remember growing this one twice now that you've reminded me. the first one was good this was the one that if i recall correctly had a bit of orange to it. i liked it but then when i grew the second one, it didn't make a lasting impression at all. didn't grow this again either...

August 2014, i sprouted my first sunshine daydream seeds...and have grown that exclusively. each pheno of SSDD has been exactly what i want from it with a nice kush taste to it, and haven't wanted to give up flower space to RQS since then.

so yeah--what happened? Bodhi Sunshine Daydream bongsmilie8)

Just as a follow up, the scent on these came out a little better after further cure, and the buds have hardened quite a bit. Really reminds me of the look of Nads (Canadian BC commercial) from the early 2000's.Still not the best I've ever grown, but a serviceable smoke. Have two full quart jars of this, and some others that were just harvested, so my supply should be good until November when (hopefully) the Purple Malawi is finished.

Full cure is very very important. I recently read someone telling people that you dont need to cure over 2 weeks, and that was the worst advice I have ever read. Some strains just take some time to mature during cure and will get better and better.
