Hello, some weeks ago I posted about a sativa grow under vero 18
https://www.rollitup.org/t/old-school-sativa-under-vero-18.940938/#post-13540939
That one finish very nice with an aprox 1,5 gr watt of well manicured product.
I started another crop same conditions, same clones, same tent, with much more hot temperatures.. about 28-30 celsius
I watered more for that reason and use a little less nutrients.
But I introduced some major changes in lighting..
I introduce 4 little citizen horticultural leds...
Details of the bar I built are here:
https://www.rollitup.org/t/finally-arrived-home-citizen-horticultural-cobs.941283/#post-13549949
So I changed the total wattage a little...
First, in veg I use the light like in the first crop I wrote above.
But in flowering I add 100 watts of citizen horticulturals...and reduce some wattage of the vero 18
So finally I have been using 200 to 280 watts (increasing the watts over the flowering time) that were 1/3 of 5000K Vero 18 another 1/3 of 3000K Vero 18 and 1/3 of horticultural citizens
I also use 10 watts of Far red , 10 minutes after lights off. Using a very well distributed diodes.
Previous crop was 11:30/12:30 in flowering this time I use 12/12. I could put more time in the day side....but I decided to try if I can use a little more light time (30 minutes) and also get the benefits of flowering total time reduction from the far red
And I added a little blackligt fluorescent about 20 watts all time during flowering in the middle of the tent..I know this lamp is very inneficient...But This is what I got at home and some led Talk from Growmau in youtube conviced me to use UVA lot of time and not UVB...in order to not to stress the plants...
Today is 49 day of flowering... Heat has been a real problem...lot of upper leaves get yellow from heat..and maybe from too much light also....Some little foxytailing...normal in a pure sativa and for this heat...I think I am lucky to get only a very little....
I am fascinated by the difference in flowering maturation...bud structure and...overall aspect of the sativas...
Judge the differencies..I love this plant..remember same exact clones
I forgot to say that I bent a little the main stems during veg to distribute auxins and compact the plant...so some clons have like two or three colas almost as big as the main one...

Previus crop 47days in flower

Actual crop 49 days in flower
They are falling from weight...last time they felt about ten days later...

Think much better bud structure..previus crop buds finally got very dense...but...
Apparently more resin...
Apparently more mature..maybe a week wich is consistent with more density and resin...
Anyway I like it
Thanks for your reading ...Feel free to comment .Believe me or not yesterday was dancing in Ibiza:)))).....holydays are over:(

Final crop results:
1,7 gr/w aprox but less dense buds due to extreme heat
A light increase in resin content about 10 per cent against previous crop
A significant reduction in flower time due to the use of far red treatments: a week earlier than previous crop.

Next goals:
Cross the 2 gr/w barrier with same clon without CO2
Solve heat problems for next summer....
Add some led strips for side/intracanopy lighting
Observe differences between UVA and UVA/UVB expositions
Add infrarred (few halogen watts) at the end of cycle.
Reduce size maintaining same gr/watts

Best regards to all

Other prosible changes:
-Start to use Osmotic water..my tap water has very high ph, high alcalinity with more than 250 ppm..think have lot of room to improve here...
-Simplify nutes even more: I have been using foliage pro and bloom from dina-gro with protekt..quite simple but been thinking in only foliage pro and protekt...in the old eighties my nutes were only one...miracle pro salts and to tell you the truth..They did their job...simplify...simplify...simpilfy...but not with leds :)
