San Pedro and Peruvian Torch

So I bought a bad of seeds for each of these two cacti. Each bag had about 50 seeds inside when they arrived. I dropped all of them into several small trays for germinating, and put them in a safe place.

Being the first time I have grown any cacti, I left them alone patiently. I checked back last night, which was almost two weeks later, only to find that out of all the seeds I only have two SPs and one PT that popped.

I am sad. Hopefully there are at least a few more that jump up over the next week or two...

Anyone else a big cacti fan?

What temp you holding? Should be high I suspect. If I were in your shoes being up north these would be nestled in a dark spot inside boiler room. Everything in that room with exception of the top of funace itself stays at about 78F-82F. Sorry I havent ever grown cacti from seed though and would also be curious to know if these arent prehaps one of those types of plant that require like 5-6 weeks to germ.

they can take up to a year to germinate they should also be placed ontop of the soil as they need plenty of light and humidity to germ have been growing them for 12 yrs now easy when you know how
