so question here.
is roots organic going to be to hot to plant seedlings in.
this is my first autogrow but im stacked in roots soil lol its my favorite.
i hear transplanting is not advised.

so is it safe to go straight into roots OR
could i fill my 5 gallons with roots and layer FFhf on top.
maybe 4 inches wide 6 inches deep in the center of FFhf????

just thin the soil down with perlite where your going to plant the seed like a party cup size area
starter mix is good but the drainage sucks and if they start off on the wrong foot its not always an ideal outcome

Hello hello Z0b. That I know of Roots Organic is not that hot of a soil. FFOF seems to me to be hotter than Roots Organics. I am doing a super soil grow this time around and am using Roots and FFOF. 50/50 for my base soil. So far that I have seen my clones and seeds do well in the mix. They also do well in just the Roots. When I got started with the super soil I was told to cut FFOF with other light soils. Roots is what was recommended for me. I think it may be my new favorite soil too. I have even planted some clones after two weeks of rooting into 16 oz. solo cups that contained 30% super soil on the bottom and the base soil on top. The clones grew into the super soil within the first week and although it burnt the tips of the leaves it had at the time the only other weird growth was the leaves to come next. They were wrinkled a little. All growth after is fine and It blows my mind how fast they grow now. I have 6 strains all in this soil and they do fine. Great actually. So yea as far as I know FFOF is a little hotter than Roots Organics. I
personally would use the FFOF on the bottom and the Roots on top. As far as autos go and re potting, check out the pic. It was my girlfriends idea. We used on basket lined with foil to hold the basket that was used for the soil. We started the seed in the other strawberry basket. Then later planted the basket and all into a smart pot.

Oh.... I just noticed FFhF. LOL. I still think you will be okay with your soil. My base soil is on the hotter side of FFhF for sure. My girl friend and I have a auto in the 50/50 Roots and FFOF and our auto is fine. I honestly would have liked it to have less nutrients now as we harvest next week and its all green leaves still. Sorry for the yapping in the post above.

yes roots organic is fine to plant into. I mix some more shit into it then stick in popped seeds. The leaves may curl/ show a lil over nute their first 2 or 2.5 weeks after sprouting but then they will start using that much and IME have been just fine.
