You'll just have to continue the training period for another week or so until the canopy is fully involved with the screen.
I'll try & remember to post a pic of how I do it when I get to "my" computer.

I've never used the smart pots & hesitate to give advice involving them - I use 4 gallon buckets that sit in tupperware tubs, makes for easy watering.

Nice , kinda wish I went with 4 gallon I really don't want to transplant because I have the screen and my drip system set up already .. But will if I see leaves suffering from root bound:/ no problems yet so hopefully I'll make it another week of good growth ... If you remember Id like to see your pics n method

Hahaha, how many do you have going under how big of a screen ? After 12/12 you still keep training right ? I can tell that some tops on the dream are gnna get really long should I top/fim them ? Dream stretches !!!!!

I'm running 10 under a 7.5'x2' screen.
Several strains, but they all seem to be cooperating.
And yes, I continue to work with them through the stretch - early into 12/12 I'll LST, later I have heavy hooks make out of copper ground wire that I bend the unruly ones over with so more of the little fellers can make it to the show.

Crap, they're awake now - brb.

Ok, ladies are awake & getting thirsty.
These two are from about a week ago - still pushing them down under the screen.

training (1).JPG training (2).JPG

This is just moments ago.
I have stopped pushing them under & now concentrate on allowing as many tops as possible to arrive at the canopy. Much debate on the defoliation technique is out there & its a personal decision, but I do remove leaves to allow secondary shoots that would never make it through the screen/fan leaves get some light so they can contribute instead of being larf.
Canopy.JPG Buckets.JPG
This is what LST looks like after only 24 hours.
And the top is easily 1/2" taller than it was when I pinched it last night.

Does that help?

Yess very much if we had the rep up still I would lol nice man thanx , so you pinched(topped) after 12/12 ? I agree with you in my opinion i defenitly defoliate I keep it very minimal and try cut the leaves in half . But yeah I'd give up a fan leaf for a nice shoot or 2 any day !! When using the copper hooks are you anchoring them down to screen? In my case I have a bunch of zip ties I could use ?..

Also I've heard/read some people circling and tying a branch around the same square. Is that a valid approach to scrog?

Not topped, LST - pinch the stem until you feel it crunch & stop.
It temporarily slows growth to allow the shorties to get taller.

Dinner time for me, be back soon.

Also I've cleaned up the bottom third already. Yours look so clean under the screen do you finish off lollipoping during flower?

I like to keep the under story very clean, I just finished a couple of days ago - first, that growth receives almost zero light so it's contribution is minimal for plant growth. Second I feel it is very important for good ventilation - I have never had a problem with PM, mold or related issues (and it seems to help with fungus gnats). Look @ pic #4 on the left - I have one large fan dedicated to ventilating under the canopy - it works well for me.

The copper hooks are made of a roll of un-insulated ground wire a sparky left here after a project - it's probably close to .20" in diameter, I take about a foot of it & form a hook on one end & just hang it on the growing tip for a day or two. Once the plant takes a set I take them off.

Got you, nice so once it's taken that bent form you remove em ? Obviously to keep canopy at same height ... Wow to think I was going to 12/12 good thing I hoped on and ask cuz now that I look I got a solid week left maybe a bit more.. The simplicity of learning teqnique and info on what works is so easy on here haha .
What strains are those ?? Also how long veg? Mine are also cooperating with each other the gorilla glue is a lil behind not as fast as the other sativa doms and the phantom I have on a piece of 7x7 piece of wood giving it an extra 4 inches of hieght the stretch and buds that 1 give is hefty:)

I typically run fem'd seeds or clones (no mothers atm), but I had a bunch of freebie's from previous orders & figured I'd give them a shot - I like variety.
I also was gifted 4 seeds in a vial from the USPS - foundem laying on the counter during a post office visit last year, WTH.
One turned out to be male & I'm going to make some seeds this year.
The other strains are;
Critical sensi star
Blue dream
Genetic lemon pineapple
White widow x Big bud

They all seem to have very similar structure and growth - I will guess that they should finish pretty close together.

That is crazy !! Man that's some luck! Haha .. Love the dream pretty, smelly, beautiful high ...how long you veg and did you adjust your screen while they grew? Or how high did you set them up from the pots

Screen is 28" from the base of the pots - just enough for the fan to sit under on it's stand.
And the BD is one of my favorites - I really like the pain relieving qualities.
I grew out the WWxBB once before & liked it well enough - the rest are new to me, so we'll see.

As for veg time, I don't know - don't really keep track. It's a hobby & I just enjoy watching the plants from day to day & taking my cue's from them.
