Light for sure. The light is the only reason that the seed would sprout to begin with. If there was no light why would it sprout?

Go with the HPS right away. Make sure it's a good 2-3 feet away from your plants for the first several days, then begin lowering the light incrementally so it's as close as possible without burning them. Use your hand to check for heat.

well thats not true cos i do mine in the dark. I believe it goes in search of light. There is no light getting under the soil, otherwise it would just hurt the tap root and kill the seed.

It doesn't matter which way u do it. I prefer dark cos then the light doesn't keep drying my soil up
