I'm going to be starting my next grow in about two weeks when my plant finishes up...I'm going to start with six and hopefully end with 3 or more ladies...anyways, my question is what size pot/cup should I start them off in??? I heard 6in deep is a good size because of the main root growing downward so quickly...I tried the "potting them in the same pot they will be in for good" thing but I think the roots spread so quickly that by the time it got to flowering there wasnt much space left....any suggestions on the sizes or even a new direction for starting off my babies is, like always, appreciated

If you have a good watering technique and a good soil/perlite mixture, you should have no problem starting and finishing in a 3 gallon container... A 3 gallon container can handle a plant that is vegged for 3-4 weeks and then flowered.

and NOW you KNOWM

thanks KNOWM.....I think I allowed my plant to veg a little to long last time that and I only had a 2.5 gallon pot...what would be a good watering technique so that I cn keep my roots in a nice ball instead orf spread out all over the place...I usually water whenever its dry an inch or so down and the pot feels alot lighter than usual.when I water I do it until the water starts dripping out of the drain holes..is this a good enough technique??...if not any pointers would be appreciated

sounds like a great technique.. It is ok to water A SHIT load(quanity)... 1/2 - 1 gallon... you can even let the pot sit in water for 5-10 minutes...

The problem occurs with frequency... wtare to frequently is what suffocates roots.... BUT it sound like you have the frequency part dialed... ....

soak.. let dry.. repeat until harvest... : )

thanks KNOWM...in the beginning of my grow I had to figure out a routine with the watering...in the time it took to do this may have caused a little stress but thanks to everyone here I got a pretty good system going on..at least I think so
