Serious LST problems with citrix strain

Hello all,
So I've had some strains that have been a pain in my ass in terms of trying to properly train in veg before, but I have started a new citrix strain this time and this is just insane. I topped it at about the sixth node, got 4 new main top colas that were VERY close together and thus I decided to tie them down a bit in opposite directions to space them out some. This was about a week ago. First off, I'd already lost one of those main tops just while tYing down, the whole thing snapped off completely at the node. So I tried to bandage it but it appears that it is a goner (sucks). For the other three tops however, this worked out... or so it seemed.
NOW today I went back to check up on it only to find the the stems on these tops are growing so thick so quickly that the twine I used to tie them down was actually cutting deeply into the stems and severely weakening them. One was broken because of this. It's own weight combined with the damage from the ties cut it right off and it was hanging on by maybe a quarter of the stem. So I decided to cut the string off on all these top branches. All of them were weakened where tied, and then a gentle bump to another top did the same thing and it broke the same way as the other. Ughhhhh!
So now 3 of my 4 main stems seemed to be completely fucked bc this plant just will NOT cooperate with training methods (did the same thing on all my other stains and they are fine). I bandaged them with duct tape and they are put back in contact with the other ends of the stems and held up properly but I'm wondering if they will even survive. I'm worried that this plant is just kind of f#$%ed in terms of yield now bc I keep losing entire tops during training (like 2 to 3 nodes each).

That first top was really screwed and it's dead, but these tops were still hanging on by a bit of the stem so they will still get SOME nutes to them at least, but there really wasnt much left connected. It's far worse than a Supercrop, it is clear through the stem as if I took a razor blade and sliced through 3/4 of the diameter. I bandaged them pretty well and neatly with duct tape though, so maybe they have a chance?

Has anybody run into the same problem and seen the tops survive? Or are they pretty much dead at this point? This SUCKS.
I'd get photos but the bandages are in the way at this point, sorry.

Your situation is almost painful to read. In time if you continue growing you will expand to the point you won't have to be so concerned with each turn in the road. Pic will help.

The only thing I can think of that will be of help is to use honey on any place where a break is concerned. Honey acts as a natural preservative and has helped me out in some extreme situations like when a music speaker fell on a plant and broke it in half. Jammed that sucker back together with honey and tape... Good as new!

Good idea! I use honey to clone. I'll take a little pipette and perform some surgery on those tops. Ill cut a little hole in the bandage, fill it with honey, and re-tape the hole. I've been looking forward to this strain, but my God I don't know if I got a difficult pheno or what! I've never had a plant that was so opposed to even the simplest training methods. It's very frustrating.

As of today after preforming the honey "operation", one of the broken branches appears to be a goner and another surprisingly doesn't appear scaved at all. Looks like I saved one of two. (I hope)

If it isn't down it isn't dead!! Very resilient plants wouldn't be surprised to see it recover! Best wishes m8 I've accidentally snapped a branch and it bulged up and I got a couple tops out of it, took about 2 weeks to recover but it did lol

Pics would be good to help you in your situation. We can see how you're tying em down and offer more advice on more effective ways.

If the bond is not air tight the connection may dry out and die/rot. Don't have a fan going over it and maybe try to shade it from direct light (probably not possible given the lack of other foliage). What you describe sounds like the start of mainlining and that is imo the opposite of low stress training.

Do you have to do it for height reasons?. Topping for 4 then again for 8 basically does the same job minus all the risk and bs involved with lst/mainlining. You can gently spread the foliage once it's all established with 8 tops and stems that are able to give more rather than messing with new weak growth.
