Setup growroom in a shed in the desert?

I live in an area where the summer temps hit 110 degrees, and average in the 90's.

The only place I can setup my grow room is inside an outdoor wooden shed that's approx 10'W x 12'L x 12'H.

I'm really concerned about the heat...

I was thinking about building a smaller area within the shed, maybe 4' x 4' x 8' and hooking up a little AC unit?

Any thoughts or advice designing my room?

You will definately need forced cool air pumping into the room. With the ambient temps as high as they are and then adding the lights....can you say HOT :fire:

Def look into an a/c unit and also something to add a bit of humidity.

yeah with a window unit ac you can definintly use the shed, what you could also do is turn your lights on at night and leave them off during the day, thats what i do when im vegging because my house has no ac i run the lights from 6 pm till noon and when i flower ill do 8 to 8 and it works killer when heat is an issue

sweet... or you can get one of those portable ac units that sit in a room and dont have to be mounted on the outside that is an option to, depends on how big you want your grow... if you want to use the entire shed as a grow room just place one of those units inside the shed make a couple inlets for forced in air and an exaust with a carbon scrubber for exaust... would work pretty good ...

I was thinking about the portable ac unit, but I don't have the funds for one. Local hardware store has a wall mount for $99.

DaGambler, I don't get what you mean about digging a hole?

Note to all - if you setup a grow room it your outdoor shed... make sure there are no mice!

When I checked on my plants this morning, I found all but 1 had been dug up and eaten my mice!! Shit!! Damn!! Puke!!

Once I figure out how to mouse proof my shed, I'll try again!
