Whats up rollitup! Im brand new to this site and brand new to growing anything really. All feedback is 100% appreciated!

I'll be starting with 5 Dynamite Diesel regular beans from Greenpoint that will eventually be planted into a 3:1 Perlite/Vermiculite mix. I will be using a sample of Mega Crop for the nutes so far.

For the lighting I have a 300W Bloomspect LED (140w actual) along with 2 clamp lights with 2 CFLs each (4x26w) (2700k/6500k). I plan on buying more light either another 300W Bloomspect or bigger.

I need to buy a humidifier before I begin germinating as RH is 25%.

Thanks for your time, here are some pictures of the setup so far :)

So a bit of an update Ive been running into issues germinating with the paper towel method so I started playing with germinating a bag seed... Soaked it in a glass of water for about 12 hours, initially it floated but it sunk when i came back. Planted the soaked bag seed directly in 3:1 mix and gave it a little soak and today Ive got a taproot poking up!!! I'm curious if I should just do the good seeds like this? Or should I diagnose the paper towel method?

paper towel in a bag works just fine for me as long as I make sure the temperature of the bag is 70-80f. I soak them too, overnight. I think temps are the most important, and darkness. Should be warm, comfortable humidity, and dark. I leave a little part of the baggie open too. Paper towel shouldn't be soaked. If it's too cold they wont germ. I've only popped about 20 or so beans though, still a newb myself.

Yeah I shouldve went with plastic bags, I had them between paper plates, I feel like they wicked away the moisture too quick. I ended up soaking the rest of them in water overnight and got back from work BOOM 2 showing little taproots, 3 were still floating unbroken but I went ahead and planted them all in solo cups anyway since I was actually wanting to plant them before the taproot showed... Ooops

I guiltily (and gently) uncovered the bagseed I planted over a day ago and the taproot has found its way down and is looking very strong! Surprising for such an old bean that has definitely not been stored properly. I have no idea what he/she will be Im excited :bigjoint:

Update!! All 6 have germinated and sprouted but I'm not sure they are too healthy.

Problem is they all sprouted with the seed still attached! Next time I'll definitely be planting these beans deeper, they popped out much too fast!

After I took those pics I managed to pull the shells off 3 successfully. Also one bean had a clear sticky glob holding a leaf back so I got it very moist and managed to poke it off... Scary

Day 5
More progress! I started giving them all MC nutes at a low dose and they have all progressed significantly! Next time I feel I should do this as soon as they get planted. They still seem nutrient deficient. They're under 2-23 watt 6500k CFLs atm

I was able to gently soak and push the shells off the remaining 3 diesels (toothpicks were very useful for this).
5 still have red stems but are showing more green and the middle one is almost all green:

The two runts in the back I thought were dead they hadnt shown any progress breaking free from their seed prison.. fed nutes and buried them deeper and I was able to push those pesky shells off!

I'm surprised all 6 are growing still! Thought for sure I would kill half on accident :bigjoint:

Thanks for the follows! The more the merrier!

Rolla J, I'm definitely excited and can't wait to see some bud! Your Blueberry Twist babies are looking very healthy btw!!!

Keystone-Grower, Funny thing, I almost picked up a pack of Purple Mountain Majesty but ended up going with Chinook Haze instead. They both looked so good I had to let my gf decide for me

Day 10 and the seedlins are finally growing their leaves and look more green! I have been watering them about every 1.5 days with low dose MC. Seems the vermiculite is holding a little more water than I want it to but I did also have the RH a bit too high. I had to bury the stems on some that were toppling over also.

I've also got a pack of Butch cassidy, both now "extinct" from @Gu~ site. Waiting to pop Butch cassidy though, I've got 25 seedlings going right now. Gotta save room for my propogation dome.

Check out the greenpoint thread in seed and strain reviews. Gotta do a ton of digging though, most chit chat is based on who got what pack for how much on auctions. Great pics to be found of greenpoint gear in there though.

I've been following along in that thread. Alot of great info on the strains and grow. The DD looks hella fire.
was trying to find info on the blueberry twist strain. It was almost a dead end search til I finally found a 95 page thread on the grow

95 pages? Thats a huge thread, multiple grows? Yeah the seedling stage is making me incredibly nervous, at the very worst I still have 20 more seeds to pop open. Gotta be a keeper in there somewhere:bigjoint:

I'm sad I won't be able to get purple mountain majesty maybe gu will bring it back

I've seen quite a few pictures of completed Greenpoint gear on Instagram #greenpointseeds.

Lately I've been researching more lights to add to the tent. I'm curious about samsung lm516c diodes like used in quantum boards (really interested in solstrips). That bloomspect I have is only 135 watts and it won't be enough on its own.

Day 24
Seems like the lower leaves are yellowing and dying off... Could be lockout or something? Maybe they are just hungry. I have noticed the pH of my tap tends to rise a few points in several days. Also I think they need to be transplanted to the 2.5 gal buckets, thoughts?

The droopy bush is the bagseed and the rest are the dynamite diesels
IMG_20180127_173028_noexif.jpeg
Last feed was .3g in 1.2L split across all 6
Picked up a small fan and ultrasonic humidifier as well :hump:

Yea they look like they need more room to grow im not to sure about ur yellowing i also see some brown spotso_O what can that be? Maybe they r hungry?ph? Cal-mag?

I think a bigger pot n some food could help
Transplant coming soon. I think the brown spots/yellowing might be magnesium deficiency only since it seems it appears on older leaves... Magnesium is a mobile element and calcium is immobile. Will be adding some epsom salts

The bagseed started perking up a day ago and he/she is just killing it now. Hope its a female:bigjoint:
