well i have 8 more on their way! What about spray painting the board with metallic silver instead of white?

its 600w, it looks like there is plenty of light will see what happens, have plenty of seeds to experiment with. the light is now 2 ft from the plants! hope the setup is almost there, if i cant grow 8 more i will just leave them outside for a while :D

I think that is kinda far, but you have to get as close as you can w/out burning them. Lower them until your hand (right on top of the plants), is warm. Then you're good. A nice trick that a lot of people miss, is pointing a fan so that it is cooling the air between the lights and plants, specifically.

cool will try that, is it alright to put straw on top of the soil to stop the water from evaporating?

Use small rocks, instead. Although a better reason for doing that is to help the soil retain water upwards. That allows more roots to grow because then the roots have more places to seek out food! And if the roots can grow, then your plant can grow up to 20% larger than you would normally have expected in the same size pot.

the globes say 600w, and i have a 600w hps, so it must be? it gives of a lot of heat, i got 3 globes, one was 400, another 600 that i am using and a 1000, can i put the 400w in the 600w hps
