And the losses continue....not a nice 30 day chart. Don't forget, this was after a $25M USD influx of cash to ramp up production last week. This LP is hemorrhaging red ink all over Smith Falls. Perhaps WEED should change their stock ticker to TIMBER! :D

It's really comical to watch day traders.

To instill eroding investor confidence in their tanking stock...ShiTweed calls in a favour. "Hey Chuckie, can you do us a solid and get JT to announce legalization is indeed coming soon?"

Chuckie: "sure, I'll get right on it!"

Result of legalization announcement, ShitWeed stock pops for a day....

They buy into the hype yesterday, then realize today that absolutely nothing has changed short term. ShiTweed is still bleeding red ink like crazy, and will be for YEARS to come!

What a lot of these investors don't consider is this. Anyone who wants or likes to smoke weed, medical or recreational already does and the largest providers are BM growers. It's not like there will be some magic tap opened up July 1st 2018 and hoards of customers running to buy LP schwagg. The market is already there, some will grow their own, some will use DG's, some will buy from LP's. Most will continue to buy in the BM for better quality and options than what these schwagg producers are offering. Canada is a small market for anything, particularly something like this that has had stigma attached for so many years. Our population is aging, which likely means more use, but from a BM market savvy crowd who have had hook-ups for years. You think they'll go spend $10-$15/g from some LP via snail-mail when they can get better quality for 1/2 that amount? The baby boomers are already starting retirement years, most will likely grow their own just to have something to do in retirement.

Where is this supposed market they're going to cash in on?
Is the export market expected to be that open (soon) that they'll rake cash in that way?
Or are they really all stupid?

When you analyze the numbers published by some of the legal states. The numbers look impressive, but keep in mind there are states that have close to the population of all of Canada! They are also licensing dispensaries, delivering what the people want. A touch & feel environment, see before you buy and all that. Snail mail orders off some web site isn't going to cut it nor explode the relatively small domestic MJ market.

The only saving grace they have is an in to the private club and they've probably already started lobbying provincial governments to allow them to distribute through their own dispensaries/store fronts. But to me that won't be enough to save them.

Eaxactly!!!! Some of those baby boomers have some of the best growing skills I have ever seen. "This is how we got through the 80's" is what some of them have said!

Boomers are likely the biggest demographic groups for this MJ market in Canada and a growing percentage of the population. But we've been around and most (all that I know) have hook ups already for $100-$150 an ounce, disregard stupid laws like MJ, we're leery of any government and not afraid to push back against "the man". This is a non event for us, it just justifies all the stupid possession charges and harassment we've taken for decades, that's about the only "win" for us. There are of course some that are and always were very conservative and would never buy from a "dealer" but ime it's like 10% of that demographic.

Very Very well said @GroErr and what I've been saying for 3 years. If they think the masses will flock to the schwagg stores...nope....not enough of them anyway. Trudy misunderstands the resentment and ill will the government has caused the people they are trying to sell to.
As I've said here already " WHERE ARE THE APOLOGIES AND WE ARE SORRY'S "
They don't exist...they went from and still are jailing people to making money of the same offence. If that doesn't PISS people off to the limit...then their an assholes to.
Trudy boy has made NO apologies for jailing folks before......as a matter of fact he's been calling for it more and more hasn't he. Such as the dispensary comments.
and why...because the money is eluding them. They can control me and you and everyone else they FUCK over in the past. They are SO STUPID they deserve it.
Yup good luck trudy prancer dancer

Yeah the only thing that could eventually put a good dent in the BM and cause a winfall for LP's for medical patients, would be if/when the insurance companies start paying for it. But as the markets mature, which has already been shown in some US states, prices come down and the winfall may not be worth having to get "free" or insurance subsidized weed vs. real weed. Also, after 2 years we have somewhere around 140,000 registered medical patients, wow, huge market... if you're a basement BM dealer. With the overhead of LP's that would support what 2 LP's?

I actually got to try some LP weed recently from a friend of a friend at a party, only tried it to see what it was like first hand. True schwagg, I wouldn't throw that shit in my hash bin. To boot, the person who had it was proud that she had gotten it on credit because they had shipped her poisoned weed last year. When I asked her if she saw anything wrong with that scenario, she looked perplexed. I guess some people just don't get it, wasn't even worth carrying on the conversation, I have nothing to say to someone who thinks it's a bonus to get some free schwagg in exchange for being poisoned for who knows how long $%^!
