Should I LST/FIM my outdoor clones?

I'm growing clones in dirt in 10-gallon fabric pots outdoors in northern California — Cookie Glue, Chiesel, Frosting, and Gelato.

My first time with clones, and I didn't realize that they grow with alternating nodes instead of paired ones. Each clone has 6-8 growing nodes off the main stem, but I don't know for sure whether the topmost of each will dominate.

Should I be dragging the tops down via LST to force lower nodes to catch up? Will FIMming even work with clones? Are clones structurally weaker because of the alternating structure and absence of a taproot? Should I expect to have to trellis the clones as a result?
