I'm growing tomatoes in fabric pots for the first time this year. I'd highly recommend looking into using those in the future. They're nice because it's damn near impossible to over water the plants.

I'm of the opinion that redneck ingenuity is the best kind.
I have heirloom Homestead's just starting to turn in last year's trench. The real crop this year is still in small pots, and I haven't even built the new grow system yet. I have a dozen 5 gallon buckets bought, I just have to drill drain holes, put up 4 posts with wire laid out flat, a 2X4 frame to hold the water, hook up my float valve, transplant the young ones into the buckets. . . .I'm of the opinion that redneck ingenuity is the best kind.

Nope, first time for me.
My first time growing Brandywine. It hot and dry here too, so I may have problems. The Pruden's Purple is our main strain. The wife is crazy for them. Last year was my first time growing Yellow Pear. If you don't like picking a lot of tomatoes, they are not for you. I killed several big plants because I was sick of picking them. Great tasting little tomato though.
I love yellow pears. I haven't seen a more prolific producer, and the tomatoes are delicious. I usually just pick and eat them right off the plant.
Both. The hard to find stuff online. Everything else local. We have feed and seed stores in every small town here. Plus the box stores all have garden centers now.
I grow the Mini Sweet Peppers {saved seeds from store bought peppers} and eat them and the yellow pear right in the garden. Cucumbers also, but I'm having a shitty year for cukes so far.
I'm having saved seed nightmares with my Armenian Cucumbers this year. Three plants came up from three rows. It is so hard to save seeds in a big garden.
