Should I top yet? Plan on LSTing

Hello RIU, I plan on LSTing these two, and also topping/super-cropping possibly. Should I top this one yet? (first pic). and also, are they too close together? Id like to grow one one way, and the other the other way to fill in the void in the patch that im growing in.

I can't tell how close they are to each other bit normally you wanna stay a minimum of 2 feet apart but I would say wait a little longer to top look like it only has 3 nodes 5 hey say to top on the 4th node but I seen bugs top plants as a sprout and there still doing great!

I tried topping....once. LST is far more preferable. Do you know if they are female yet? Once you DO know, lean the top of each plant away from the other. If they were farther apart, I'd suggest you lean them toward the North. Then GENTLY bend and tie them down until the tip is about 6 inches off the ground. Side shoots will shoot up. Bend those over at 90 degrees from the main stem.

Ya those seema little close to me but ya you can bend them but the root structure will become tied up in each other n may kill one or the other or stunt it. The strong will prevail lol

If they aren't sexed, you've got a 25% chance of two males or two females. What's left is a 50% chance of getting one female. Spread away from each other, I've never lost one of two females. The only way one might weaken the other is if the smaller plant is heavily shaded by the larger. The roots compete for water and nutrients, but won't 'strangle' each other unless restricted to a VERY small volume of soil. I WILL sometimes remove the weaker of two females if the larger shows marked superiority in vigor. Never PULL out an undesirable plant. Just cut it off below the first node. The orphaned roots will decompose. No problem.
