Should I use a seedling heat mat with my humidity dome?

I've noticed more times than not when I use my heat mat the clones tend to dampen off/cook kinda. I just got my clone area air conditioned. I couldn't get anything to clone. In my new diy aerocloner or rockwool with humidity dome. My room was hovering around 85 degrees. Now I'm wondering what temp I should keep it at? Also after soaking rockwool cubes in ph'd cloning solution, should I shake them out some because I think my cubes are a little too moist when I don't shake them. I'm going to use a timer this time on my heat mat 15 on 30 off. I understand by the 3rd or 4th day both vents on my dome should be completely open. Also I've read it better to mist the inside of the dome instead of the clones. Don't know if that's completely true. I believe dome should be open for a 1 to 5 minutes twice a day for air exchange, correct? I have kln dyna grow rooting concentrate and protekt. I also have some takeroot rooting powder superthrive and some hygrozyme if needed. All these nutes were not bought for cloning just a couple. I use superthrive and hygrozyme regularly. How should I use my nutes/ rooting hormones with my rockwool?

always squeeze out the extra water in rockwool

clones need air too

temps for me at 76-79f is good anymore is a waste

the only thing I add is household honey,

its got more than the bottled sewage you use ..try it!

for the first 24h I use 100% water in ur dome

easing off over the next 10 days

so very little water is used by day 10

..later if you still have issues make a DIY bubble cloner

easy peezy and FuN!!

good luck

I do own a 20 site bubble cloner and also a 35 site diy aerocloner. U have any tips of tricks for either? Couldn't get either to work before because of 85 degree temps in my grow room.

If your room is 85F......skip the heat mat - your cooking them.......
I wouldn't "squeeze" a rockwool much. Shaking some out is fine....I'd be concerned about changing the structure of the wool to much.

Superthrive is snake oil! Save money and skip that shit.

My room is now air conditioned and stays at 74 degrees or whatever I choose. Should I soak my rockwool in kln, protekt, and some hygrozyme. Ph'd of course to 5. Now that my room is cooler I was thinking of using my timer on my heat mat 15 on 30 off. After soaking the rockwool in my solution I'm going to shake them out a little, not squeeze. I'm going to put my cloning solution in 2 separate containers. One for soaking the rockwool and the other to let my clones chill in for about 10 or 15 minutes. After that i will dip them in takeroot powder and stick in my presoaked rockwool cubes. Domes will be closed for 3 days with the occasional opening of the lid for air transfer, then should I completely remove dome or just open both vents after 3 or 4 days. I even thought about getting an ultrasonic fogger to put inside my dome instead of using heatmat to produce the humidity.

Do not use a heat mat. I use a light above a dome over them to heat it up. Then the root naturally travels away from the heat source

there are both sides to keeping the dome on...some say dont some say do....

basically if you take it off and they look like they gonna die..... spray em down good, and the dome and put that shit back on.... if they look good then they are probably starting to root and then you want to avoid giving them water through their leaves but instead through the rockwool.

Your temps in the room plus the added heat mat would be extreme for clones. Your room temp is already on the high side for clones especially with a dome and all the humidity that goes with it so you would find the temperature under the dome to be a few degrees higher then the ambient of the room.
