I found these tubs worked best out of the mini tubs I have tried,including the ones you posted.

I use wbs as spawn but I use vermiculite, coco coir, cow manure compost and lime for my substrate. Once the wbs is colonized I break it apart and mix it into my sub.(after the sub has been boiled for a couple hours)
I put my tubs under 12/12 light and let it colonize. I don't put holes in my tubs either. It will start growing shrooms on it own when it is ready, no need to keep the light out in this setup. I make my sub about 4" thick with the mycelium mixed in.
You will need a pressure cooker to do wbs tek.
As you can see their is a hundred differant ways to do it just pick one and try it. Good luck
