Shweedies in a soil bed

well here is a picture of the 2 year old soil bed. i was even more disappointed with it today when i was checkin it out so i topdressed with wormcastings, peat, and vermiculite after taking the picture. i think i really need to get a wetting agent in there soon as the top couple inches of soil wont absorb any moisture. Why did you stop mulching it?
I'd think the topdressing, perhaps mixed in a bit with the topsoil, would remediate whatever happened to make it go hydrophobic, given the chance to flourish, that is. And seeing all that soil lying bare under those strong lights hurts lol

Tbh it was out of lazyness and lack of time....im gettin some straw this week to cover all my beds and i started making sst with barley seeds again and the cover crop should help bring some life back to the topsoil too :) luckily there are still worms in the soil so the mulch will help them come closer to the surfAce too...

lol yeah, gotta try out how far one can go, right?
I'm betting the SST + mulch + topdress you've already put on will get everything back up and going beautifully!
You lit the fire under my butt...
haha at your service :fire:

Ive gotta bring some straw in there but the soil inthis bed is dping better after the topdress. the plants already look much greener and the growth is picking up. its gonna be pretty slow right now anyhow as the basement im in is like 60-65 degrees with lights on right now. i might have to go back to hps or mh foe the winter just to combat low temps...20161205_084529.jpg

The other clones that are in the 800w room are freakin killin it. i have another thread for that grow but here is a picture the day we transplanted and then two weeks later. They are droopy cuz i just did a neem/silica and tm7/seaweed foliar. we flipped to 12/12 after 2 week veg and i havent been able to get there to take a pic yet :) but tomorroe im gonna see them at day 4 of 12/13. im really excited!

Here is the big momma. I dont think yield is gonna be all that impressive this go round. I left the mars 700 in there for too long and it just doesnt pump up the volume like the cobs i have. However all of the blue in that light brought out some real nice trichomes. Also the plants just grow so much better when its more than 55-60 degrees in that basement... ima put together a hps tent this week and it should help with temps a little...

Ah but she's beautiful! Such a joy to look at, all triched up as she is! :weed:
How far into flower is 42 days for her strain?
Tbh i expect to go 60-70 days but i dont really know. I suspect that the low temps combined with weak lighting for the first 28 days will negatively effect yield and possibly flower length. But the quality still looks top notch!

I dont really know how long it is gonna take cuz i didnt take pictures the day i cut em down. Normally i use the dates from my pictures to keep a record and figure that stuff out.... The romulan that i liked most got revegged and here she is. At around 50 days of 12/12 this last summer she looked like this

But now im confused cuz in her current state she looks more like this one of her sisters

20160611_114026.jpg

The sister had a slightly better flavor and high than the keeper but it threw a couple really late nanners and i just didnt wanna keep that liability around when i didnt have to. Either i revegged the wrong plant or there are some environmental factors at play... Could it be a result of the cold that she is putting out more resin and leaves and less flowers? I know the weak light source couldve contributed but the girls in these pictures were flowered under 56w hans panel and they did great!

That same dresser with the hans led panel is bloomin 8 of the romulan clones :) the cfl provides some uv as well as more light...but i mainly put it in there to add some heat...

And the 800w cob led room is blowing up!!! On thursday it was way too much of a jungle so last night we brought the plants out and did some major defoliation before a tm7/seaweed foliar spray

Btw the pics are after defoliation and we pulled a the better part of a 5 gallon bucket full of leaves. I am a huge fan of leaving ;) them on the plant if i dont have to worry about airflow or light penetration....but in this case i was worried about both.
