Welcome to my thread, and personal grow journal for this season! This will be my first real attempt at growing so it should be an interesting experience. I've done an incredible amount of research on the topic across several forums and now I am very confident that I should be able to pull this off. Over the next few months I will be posting pictures and updates consistently, I hope that you will sit down and enjoy it.

~A general overview of my plan~

-Start 20 feminized seeds in my home-made CFL vegging tote. (~may 10th)
-Buy 2 yards of compost from the city and roughly a yard of perlite form a construction supply company.
-Dig the holes at night. 3.5ft x 16 inches deep.
-Haul the loose compost out to the spot. For this I will fill trash bags with the material and bring it out to my spot by foot in a military surplus duffle bag.
-Transplant the 20 or so plants outside after approximately 2-3 weeks of vegging.
-Maintenance visits will be at least once weekly; never more than twice.

~Strain Selection~

10x Purple Maroc (Female seeds)

5x Mango (KC brains)

1x DEIMOS Autoflower (Budda Seeds)

1x Red Dwarf Autoflower (Budda Seeds)

1x Quasar (Budda Seeds)

2x Aurora Indica clones (Nirvana Seeds)

As you can see, I picked a bunch of early finishers as I will be going back to school on september 10th and I don't want to deal with this shit too much while at school, you know?

Im also doing my first ever big outdoor grow. Around the same area as you I would start your plants around april 20-25 just to give em a head start the wilderness is brutal around here bugs, deer, rabbits I was told to veg mine to about a ft tall then let em go outside. Im subb'd cant wait to see how they turn out. Take lots of pics for us I love seeing how creative people get with their guerilla grows!

I definitely would, but due to me going to school away from home, I can't do anything until I get out.

hey sick, i see your growing some of the same strains as i am. i have the red dwarf, white dwarf, syrup, quasar, and deimos. all which were free seeds from my purchace of 15 fem lemon skunks (great strain), 10 fem twilights (havent yet tryed), and 10 fem himalayan gold fems (imo also a good strain). im switching back from hydro to soil. ive herad alot of good things about ff light warrior for starting small plants. also i might add about 20% of ff ocen forest with that. i then plan on 50-50 mix of the two once a plce them outdoors.if you have any experience i would like to know your opinion on these soils. thanks and keep us posted

good luck carrying all that dirt bro.... shits heavy.
just from reading the post sounds like your gonna give it a good go but compost and perlite for 20 plants is gonna be a bitch lugging out just IMO. Perlite alone is gonna be at least one big bag which if i was to do id fill a packpack and trot it out. As for 20 plants your gonna split them up right ? i dont know how u feel but anything more than 10 plants in a circle is risky plus if someone finds them u have nothen left. better to split up. The last thing i wanna mention is u seeing your plants 1-2 times a week ....Im not sure were your planting but u will have a trail for sure leading right to your plants with that many trips and if there in a common woods they will be found .I plant my plants in May and later i go back in August to feed nutes for flowering then i go back 1-2 week of october to harvest i only see my plants 3 times from start to finish..i also gotta ad i average well over 45 plots a year outside so i couldnt visit them all every week even if i had them on private land and with the amount i put out i can afford to loose a patch of 10 here and there do to pest or mold by not being right on top taking care of them weekly. I think the big thing for u is visiting to much id hate to see all that research and work your doing go to someone else. GOOD LUCK

Hey glad to have you here, I can't give much input on those soils as I've had no experience with either, but I do know light warrior has no nutes and would be nice and easy on the seeds, that 20% ocean forest recipe sounds just right for when they start looking or some food.

Thanks, I'll need it for sure!

Yeah, I know it'll be a HUGE bitch but I just look at the prize at the end of the tunnel. What is a weekend devoted to hauling dirt when in the end you will get #'s? You will be happy to know that I have decided to split my plot up into 3-4 smaller plots. However, I still think that 1 visit every week and a half to water and feed isn't too much and shouldn't create a trail if I'm careful.

~Official update~

Welcome back, another update here. Things are coming along very nicely and It looks like I'm pretty much ready for the season to begin. I just got the confirmation that my order of seeds has been delivered, and they are waiting for me back at home.

I was able to spend all last weekend working on some grow equipment including a cloner and a CO2 generator! Exciting stuff! Unfortunately upon another visit to my prospective spot, i discovered standing water under the snow so apparently it's a pond there in the spring... I did pick out several good spots on higher ground where I could plant in smaller patches.

Heres some pictures of what I have.

This is my growbox. It's got 6 26w cfls and is cooled by two pc fans on an adjustable output DC adapter.

All lit up

My seed mix and bloom nutes. I have yet to go buy a tub of jack's classic 20-20-20.

My DIY cloner and CO2 generator.
