Well guess i'll update whats been going on in my room. I took my clones to far into flower and they weren't looking all that great so i decided to pop all my freebies and run them so they will get about 2-3 weeks @ 18 hrs, then going into 12-12 when the scrog is ready for them. Figure might need to drop another light or 2 when it comes time for flowering, just hope i can get the four 630w Nanolux LEC's, dont think my A/C gonna make it with 4-5k watts burning, barely making it on 3k right now. so the past 3 days have been busy busy, 2 days of transplanting, then a day of watering and building a 4x12 ScroG, funny how ppl think it should only take a hour or 2 to transplant 28 plants into 3gal larger pot...SMH... figure i'll finish off the seedling in 3gal pots, transplant a week before the 12-12 flip.

Decided to go pick up 2 nanolux 630 cmh, gonna run a mixed spectrum 1 lamp 4200k & 1 lamp 3000k per fixture. Gonna replace my two black Chinese hoods with the 630's, so will end up with 1000w hps in the middle of my 4x12 ScroG.

you may want to think about switching from mh,hps over to ceramic lighting, the 315 watt cdl lamps work really well and are 35% more efficient than hps..they also take a week off flowering times..1 315 is equal to roughly 500watts hps and easily cover a 4x4 area at 2ft above canopy.. i switched to ceramics a few months Ago and my gram per watt is way better than after 20 years growing with mh,hps... 1.35 gpw 1st grow, 2nd run 1.46 gpw, 3rd run in progress im expecting to get 1.5 gpw and hope to achieve a 1.75 gpw average in time...

looking good,, please tell me what u think of the nanolux brand cmh lamp?? so many different lamps to choose from, sunsystem, nano, phantom, boulder, etc...
I don't have fancy equipment to test much, but my IR temp gun puts the ballast temp at around 100-104, top of hood 80, lamps maxd out at 350 degrees f. I got one Phillips lamp in the far end, not much to say so far there. 28" was to close for them.
They fit my likes a little more then the SS, I have used a few different sized hoods and have settled on more focused hoods, vs a wider spread. From 36" I'm getting about4'-4.5' spread still.

First night of 12-12, starts now. Got to try and get these temps to stay down, I don't know If it is because the CHM lamps are new and need time to burn out some of their intensity or what but I'm about 20" from the ceiling max on these light, so a longer veg would be crazy imo. I would probably like a 630 CHM setup a lil better if it was air cooled, with the shield glass made out of whatever the outer glass is. Was looking to save a lil on cooling cost but not sure that's gonna happen. Jus have to be happy with the 700w savings in wattage... as long as they don't funk it up for me.. 20160331_071937.jpg 20160331_071941.jpg

A lot of people say these cmh fixtures run cooler than HID but I haven't really experienced that either. Have you considered putting up movable reflective walls on dollies to maximize your lights?

Have thought about hanging plastic from the second level of the scrog, I jus worry about the temps if I do it.

Why is it that you don't fill your solo cups to near the top with soil? What do you use to mix that much soil a concrete mixer? Looking good in there.

The cups were filled like that cuz always have a big stretch on my seedling, back fill as they do.
Use a kiddie pool or line the tub with plastic, use promix with xtra perilite so us not that bad, but need Alot of water jus to moisten it all.

Yea after this run if I get close to my last run I'm gonna change out my last MH/HPS to the 630 and maybe get 2×315w's, or just do a 630 for my veg area.
