Sludge in my liquid nutes???

I'm doing a full organic grow and it's going awesome. Using FFOF soil and Blue Mountain Organics nutes. I keep the containers in the dark and give them a good shake every few days and before I mix them. The bottles I have are a few months old. This is the first time I've ever used these nutes or any organic liquid nutes like this.

In one of the bottles, I don't remember which and I'm too lazy to go look right now, I noticed some sludge/snot looking stuff floating around. It's not a whole lot, but I was wondering if this is normal. I shook the hell out of the bottle but it didn't dissolve back into it. It kind of looks like there's a hawker/loogie in it. I don't know if it came this way or if I'm storing it wrong. Like I said, it's in the dark and it's at room temperature inside a cabinet.

Any info appreciated.

Pretty much normal.

No experience with BMO, but I had to work on my Earth Juice 'grow' with a chopstick just to get it to pour.

I've never seen anything like that in my BMO, only hard deposits at the bottom of GIG bottles from the 8/16 batch. They're kept shaded but not in complete darkness and I leave the lids loose as per the instructions so the bottle doesn't swell up. Probably nothing to be concerned about, some by-product of some sort....

I have had similar experience with the SPT and the flower power. Not such a big deal, and I find it happens after a few months (despite their claims of 2 year shelf life).

You want to make sure it still fizzes up when you shake it though. If it stops fizzing it means the microbes inside have died and the product will suffer as a result.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably have half a bottle or so after a couple grows and just order some fresh for my MJ plants. I'll use what's left on my veggie garden in the summer. This stuff is pretty affordable, works great as far as I've seen, and that way my MJ plants will always be getting the freshest nutes possible.

I agree with the shelf life claim. I'm not an organics guru but seeing as how this stuff is "alive", I wouldn't put much faith in an 18 month (or even a 12 month) bottle of it. I could be wrong though. But again, given the affordability of this stuff, keeping some fresh supplies of it on hand isn't a huge deal.
