Small ACMPR Kush Berry Grow

Thanks GroErr. I noticed today that some male flowers are opening. I have them in the backyard and they are getting huge, I want them gone ASAP. Lol.

I'll collect pollen this weekend by chopping of branches with open flowers and then shake the shit out of them in a mason jar. I think that should get me enough to pollinate a branch on each plant. I'm not looking for a lot of seeds, just enough to avoid buying them again if I ever want to grow this strain again.
Yeah your neighbours growing outdoor will not appreciate you leaving that male around - lol. If there are still some branches left you could put them in water, inside a jar or glass with the flower part leaning outside the jar/glass, put that on some parchment paper so the pollen falls onto the paper when ready. Let them mature enough to open the pods and you could have some more pollen. All you'd need would be a light bulb in your garage or shed.

if you have some pollen already you can stretch that out a bit by cutting it with flour, say 4:1 of flour-pollen. I cut it and use it like that mainly to make sure no moisture gets into the pollen but you can use it to stretch out a small amount. Doesn't take much to make a ton of seeds :)

I harvested some flowers in a jar, it's hard to see but there is a fair amount of pollen on the inside of the jar. I'm thinking if I use a super small paint brush I should be able to pollinate my selected branches.

Drug test today. Not looking forward to it since I failed one two weeks ago for another company. It's been 45 days since I smoked a joint. Nervous as hell, I need a good paying job soon.

Such BS that companies are allowed to screen for users. Good luck man.
I agree 100%. I can see testing for impairment but not for what a person did last week or a month ago.

I've been smoking weed since I was 13 and I'm 42 now but I can still quit anytime I want. I think it's safe to say that although I like weed and have a legitimate prescription for it, I don't have an addiction issue with it that could cause issues at work.

They need to get with the times, ESPECIALLY in medical marijuana legal states/provinces! Not fair to the people that take it as medication. Not saying that you should be able to use at work, but definitely able to on your off time.

Hope it goes well for you, shame that you have to get tested and more so that they don't allow for medical patients.

This is only the tip of it though. This issue will spill into the general population and across all types of work environments if the proposed laws associated with legalization go through as-is. With arbitrary road side testing, all medical patients will be at risk of losing their ability to drive, even when they're not high, but technically over the proposed limits.

Business, banks, insurance companies need to get their shit together and adjust to a new reality, otherwise it'll be technically legal but same old same old harassments we've been dealing with for years.

From what I understand they are only going to be able to test for impairment after July 01, 2018. Which in itself is going to be very difficult to prove. The only way to get even close to proving impairment would be a blood test. Lawyers are telling many big companies to change their testing policies to accommodate legal marijuana or face possible law suits in the future.

Yeah the new proposed laws are to come into effect with legalization, whether that's next July or not we'll see. But yes, it's going to create a mess and tie up the courts for a while the way it's being put forward, not enough science/tech to get it right so the courts will have to decide #$%! As much as companies/employers many will bury their head in the sand until they're forced to comply. Haven't heard a peep out of some large companies I deal with about this subject.

Well I passed the alcohol, drug and physical testing today. Then met up with a buddy afterwards to celebrate and well I probably won't pass another drug test for a few days. Lol.

Well I'm fucked!

I found a hermi with three completely open flowers this morning!

Now I don't think I want to seed this strain as I'm not going to be sure if the seed came from a true male or the damn hermi I just found. I moved the Hermi to my wifes greenhouse to get it away from the other females and checked them all for signs but I think it was just the one plant that is bad.

Just estimating, how badly do you guys think three completely open flowers would seed the other plants?

That sucks
I'd spray them with some water to kill any pollen lingering around.
Fingers crossed none got to do their thing

I'm not sure chlorinated or not but misting water works well at killing viable pollen.
Luckily for me I haven't encountered this specific problem myself but I expect it eventually

I knew everything was going too smoothly, lol. It was a nice plant too and probably would have been a good yielder.

I have a plan I think. I'm not going seed this crop at all but if I find a killer pheno, I will reveg and if it doesn't hermi while revegging then it must be stable. I will save pollen from the male plants I have outside and use that to pollinate the revegged plant when it flowers again. It's a bit more work but if I end up with a killer pheno, it will all be worth it......hopefully.

Here are a couple close up pics of one of my plants. It's the smallest in the room but has the nicest buds and a very blueberry smell, I don't think there is much Kush in it at all but thats ok. It is one of my top two plants in my room. This could be a possible reveg candidate and possible mother for future clones once I get a veg room set up.

Sorry to hear about the herm, any sort of water will do and keep it from flying around the room/spreading. Rest are looking fantastic should be a nice haul.

Change of plans again.

I'm still pretty pissed about the whole hermie thing this morning and decided that if it can happen once, it can happen again. I'm pretty sure it was a genetic thing that caused the plant to go hermie as the flowers opened at the same time as my true male plants outside. It would be different if I was a couple more weeks into flowering and started seeing the male flowers, then I would suspect a light leak or abnormal stress causing it to show the hermie traits but thats not the case as far as I can tell.

Since I can't afford to keep growing a strain that has a track record of hermie traits, I will never seed this strain as the seeds could also have hermie traits. So I tossed my two male plants and all the pollen I collected over the past couple days. As of right now I will only ever grow this strain again if one of my current plants is absolute gold! If I do find a keeper, then I will attempt to reveg the plant into a mother plant for future cloning. If I don't find any keepers then c'est la vie, and I move on to other strains and breeders.

On a positive note, there are two plants that stand out as far as smell goes, one I mentioned earlier today, it smells like a very very strong straight up blueberry smell and the other is strong smelling as well but it is more of a grape bubblegum smell, if either of these plants has the taste to match their smell, I could have a keeper.
