Small indoor setup

Hello fellow growers,
I will soon be starting my first indoor grow but I need some help with the setup. The grow medium will be coco core and I will likely top the plants once I was thinking of a 2 by 2.5 foot gorilla grow tent with a 400 watt either led or hid light. Two fans on the inside of the tent. Some of my concerns would be heat and proper lighting. I'm am trying to research for the best light and would like some more info from experienced growers. Any suggestions and information to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Since I just finished my first grow I wouldn't say I'm experienced per say but I do remember exactly the same issues. In the end tho, it's a budget thing.
I went with cheap blurples and don't regret it cos it helped me learn a few things and I'm happy with the results. Think about what you try to achieve and then go with that. I started cos i got fed up looking to buy at shit prices for crap. And I actually got compliments for how good shit turned out...

How tall is the tent? If its only 2.5 tall your gonna have a hard time keeping them so small. Even 3 ft is pretty hard actually imo.. if you concider using hid thats about a ft from the top of the tent down to to top of the plants minimum, then 6 inches on container leaves very little for the plant.
The micro forum has some info on this style of grow but id advise trying to figure out a larger flowering area.

I think he's talking about the footprint....

Heat could really be an issue with the HID bulb. Even with an air cooled light setup. Plus you need to account for how far above the canopy you'll be able to place the hood. You can burn the shit out of those girls pretty easily. I don't know much about LED but that might help you out.
Good luck

Check out my grows and cabinet. My plants get to be about 20-25" tall, with 36" of useable space. I use lower end LEDs (galaxy produces less heat than mars by far). They allow me to let the plant get closer without bleaching them. See the high end leds are so powerful they destroy your plants when you get closer than 6". I get mine to 2-3" before they start bleaching. And I still net over 100 grams per plant dried. In soil containers of 3 gallons
