Snafu's Organic Garden

Hello All,

The selection process has finished and am now returning this thread to my own organic garden.

I settled on one Medicine Man and Vanilla Kush 2. I am not keeping any of the widows. The clones off my initial lot aren't as hardy as other phenotypes I had worked with in the past.

I would've taken pictures, but all the plants are gone now into their new home to a friend of mine and he is finishing them up nicely.

This Monday I will be taking pictures of my own organic garden as I really begin to have fun with the two new phenotypes I selected.

I will only be working with Medicine Man and Vanilla Kush for this duration, playing aorund with tests and other things I want to try out.

Thanks for eveyrone following along!

The selectionw as based on: Vigor, Budding, Essence(scent), Internodal Stacking and Recovery from stress.

Hello all,

Here we go again! The long and arduous task for me of selecting beautiful females has concluded. In total, it was almost a six month process. I am glad it is over. I really wanted to have a nicely documented selection process on here, and feel that though not laden with lots of information like I usually do, I think this is still a nice resource for RIU.

The results? A "Medicine, Man" by Shantibaba of Mr. Nice Guy Seeds was selected based on clone rooting and vegetative vigor, internodal stacking and initial vigor of bud production. It also responded well to topping, bending, supercropping and multiple transplanting.

Vanilla Kush 2 was selected. Amazingly, these seeds were all very close. However, VK2 made the cut by a 3mm tighter internodal stacking based off of VK1's intial stacking rates.

Critical Sensi Star is getting the boot, Alquimista the boot, and I am still running a selection on some Black Widows. I am really not a fan of the BW lot I have, so we will see how that turns out. I will update you all on the BW's periodically.

So, Now What?

I now have a beautiful vegetative tent of clones from the selected mother plants. They will be moved into my bigger flowering tent once I clean it. Probably by tomorrow.

For those new to my growing journals/posts, my apologies for the previous 13 pages if it bored you:) However, I hope you got something out of the selection process. I sure did. Now, this journal will pickup pretty rapid and be laden with bud pictures, as the perpetual system is placed and I have nice, vigorous females to work with.

Heres the little cloning tent. I have my Kloner disbaled, but that will be re-set back up tonight and cuttings will take place tomorrow. In this tent right now I have the Black Widows, a Critical Sensi Star, an OG original from a friend of mine, and a few Alquimistas. These are all a dying lot, as in I will be playing around with them for fun but there road stops here: they wont be cloned.

The vegetative tent. 2 Kessil Deep Purples and 1 Magenta. Those are all Vanilla Kush 2's and Medicine Men.

Happy growing,

Snafu

Hey Snafu, keep those updates coming!

I know how ya feel about the widow. I've grown out 7 looking for a mom and I'm sorta shocked how different in appearance they all were and how different their feeding requirements were too. I don't know if it's phenos as much as a game of genetic craps :). I've got ones that look and grow like pure indicas. Some that are indica on the bottom and get sativa up top and some with that modern sativa-dom look. The wild thing is how they all taste and smell the same. I did find a great mom out of the 7, (total one hit wonder, beautiful grower, good yielder and amazing flavor and aroma), but I've got one sativa dom that was a 14 weeker and is firing out nothing but seeds when breaking up bud. Didn't even notice any seeds when I was trimming it out, they're all so deep in the nugs. And suppossedly there's some "white" pheno, but I don't know if it's worth finding. It may just be luck to get that one, but hopefully you'll find a keeper among yours. It is really good smoke that's created quite a buzz among my friends.

But Vanilla Kush is on my short list so I can't wait to see what you and Kessil are gonna do with it. Be Safe and Happy Growing!

Great grow snafu, I've been looking into leds as well spent some time on the led thread reading up doing research. From what I've read people didn't really like kiessels but bkackstars were not bad. Everything else I read people were mentioning blackdogs, area 51, California light works, rhinos and cidlys .. anyone else chime in on leds or ones I've mentioned?

Will be watching this and seeing how it turns out. Great work!

Hey snafu how is everything coming along? I just recently purchased a kessil spinner with 5 h350 magentas and 1 h350 purple and 2 h150 reds too. I have the 6 h350's on the spinner, I am growing with the general hydroponics water farm 8 pack, would I be better spending more money on 2 or 3 more kessil H350's or widening the spectrum with 1 Gavita 600 SE US?? I am growing in a 4.5x4.5 area but I have a 4.5x7 room but I need room to get in the door because of The low spinner and room to get in the reservoir to add water and check nutrients. So basically what is gonna produce me the absolute BEST QUALITY PRODUCT , getting more Kessils or going with a gavita 600 SE US??? As long as I can get 12-16 zips minimum every harvest but QUALITY ALWAYS COMES FIRST !!!!!!!

Hey guys! Snafu is back, but I am the brother of the original Snafu. OG Snafu had kids and I am taking over his account on RIU. He was my younger brother and a great Cannabis grower. The new Snafu(me) owns an organic fruit and vegetable company and can help answer any soil/organic related questions! Check out my new thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/experienced-organic-grower-to-answer-your-questions.926327/
Cool beans buddy!
